Any brilliant suggestions??
Age nearly 90, mentally all there, enlarged heart causing very noisy
breathing which she can't hear because she is deaf and enlarged oedematous
legs which are upsetting her. The latter is new. She had an angioplast 2
years ago but they only managed to open up one artery. She gets funny turns
with no aura when she gets up too quickly. Unfortunately was put on a lot
of allopathic drugs after operation including loads of Fusidin, a diuretic,
which of late has been doubled but this is not bringing the legs down. She
also is becoming incontinent when she gets up was sitting and has to pass
urine every 1/2 hour. This I presume is because of the diuretics.
She is Arsenicum constitution and takes 6c when anxious. She calls these her
happy pills!!! She is on 20 drops of Crateagus tincture TID. I have tried
Stroph. 6x which hasn't done anything. So any other suggestions or is it a
total loss because of all the allopathic drugs. I am going out abroad to see
her next weekend. Any suggestions much appreciated. (I do have some C/C/C 30
around which I could try!!!)

Rochelle

Re: My mum
Hi Rochelle,
I checked out crataegus in Boericke--and the entry lists "general anasarca"
and "oedema" in the symptom picture of the remedy.
It may be worth thinking about the possibility that the twice daily dosings
of the tincture are beginning to cause the edema sx--the dose frequency
could also be counteracting the diuretics she's being given.
Perhaps a dose of crataegus in potency--just a small one, like a 6c--might
antidote the anasarca. You'll know when you get a chance to see your mum
again and review the case more closely.
Hope she feels better soon,
Nancy

Re: My mum
Thanks for your idea Nancy. I have sent a message for her not to take
anymore until I get there.
Have no Crateagus in potency only a combination Crateagus/Cactus/China in
30C!!! I could try a dose of that in water.

Has any proved the remedy Crateagus/Cactus/China

Re: My mum
I understand what you are saying and as yet I have never prescribed it. It
was a remedy I got after a college lecture on heart problems!!!!
