Irregular bowel movement

Had a new case (woman age 66) in last week with a few different complaint but what she wanted treated was her irregular bowel movement.
She has had a colonoscopy, barium enema and blood tests and everything is clear. "When I want to go nothing happens. I get a lot of wind and a white liquid which can be frothy. This happens for 2 or 3 days and then everything is fine for 3 or 4 weeks and then it all starts again. The last couple of weeks it has happened weekly for 1 or 2 days before it goes." The stool when it comes is a normal stool although she might go 2 or 3 times that day.
I prescribed Nat Mur 30 as a constitutional remedy but I couldn't really find a clear rubric for the white liquid she described. I just wondered if anyone had come across this symptom before. I questioned her about mucus but she wasn't sure. It looks as if the intervals between the episodes are getting smaller.

I only checked Clarke and that seemed near enough. I knew Nat Mur had watery and white but not the frothy. Thanks for Hering's MM. Looks good so here's hoping!!

I have found that patients who have a white liquid with/near/instead of stool often hae a parasite problem.

The white liquid may be sometimes in a different form of the mucous coating of the intestinal wall. A dose of Mercurious Sol. 200c may work wonderfully. But after the dose of Merc. Sol., initially there will definitely be an aggravation for a day afterwards there will be a good relief. This aggravation has to be told to the patient. Also a dose Nux vom will stop the frequent stools.

Thanks for that which I will consider if necessary. She doesn't have frequent stools. She may go 2 or 3 times on the day when the stool restarts but that is natural.

I would probably use something outside homeopathy to help i.e. capsules with herbs such as black walnut and cloves along with tablets with gamma oryzanol and pau d'arco herb and possibly look at one of the dreaded combos later if it doesn't clear with the homeopathic simplex that covers the case
