Ecchymosis Update

Post by Rochelle »

A CAT scan has been performed now and was clear so there was no reason said the Consultant to do an MRI. The consultant also said that if there was a tumour there could be coordination problems that he tested for and other signs.
Meanwhile she still has the headaches!! Last time I gave her a nosode (Carc)and now I have repeated the Sulphur as from the consultation last week, the nosebleeds are back (these went away with the Sulphur) but her tummy aches have gone. Because of the pains in her legs I am now wondering"growing pains" and thinking Calc Phos. There is also restlessness and headaches from study with this Rx. She reckons the headaches could come on when reading.

Hi Rochelle,
If the sulphur stopped her nosebleeds but did not start any growth--and
now she has headaches! It doesn't sound to me like sulphur is "it"...
Would you say the headaches are better or worse than the nosebleeds,
taking intensity into account...? Does she *seem* any more or less
well, from what you see?
Do you have any detail about the nosebleeds and the pains?

She had the headaches before the Sulphur. That is why they came to see me this time. The Sulphur got rid of nosebleeds but no affect on the headaches. The Carc got rid of the tummy aches but brought the nosebleeds back. The other thing the Carc did was to improve her appetite which is good as she is so tiny and doesn't eat enough according to Mum. Can't get anything out of her as far as sensation of headaches is concerned and I have really tried. It's not thumping , more a dull ache or sore!! Nosebleeds- come anytime , no patter. No modalities for either except headaches worse reading. (No eccymosis mentioned this time though)

From your original description of her appearance along with the sx mentioned she sounds very tubercular and Silicea like + a silicea personality, especially when young, can be very difficult to get information from. The tubercular line of Calc or Phos or Silicea seems to be present and you get these sort of veins in tubercular diathesis when the skin is waxy like - check out face, veins, netted - headaches from studying is a classic Sil sx. OK will check out Silica but she is a feisty individual and has no sycotic symptoms like the sinus and mucus I am used to seeing in a Silica child.

Headaches from reading might raise some question about eyestrain -- visional accommodation. Could give you a better rubric/ remedy idea??

But if you think in terms of remedy lines or shapes then the satellite
rx that surround Silicea will be Puls and Thuja + others on one side
and Phos and Tuberculinum + others on the other. Remedy relationships
are very important. Joy

Hi, Rochelle.
That's good that they didn't find anything wrong. However, there are sometimes issues with eye muscle coordination (accommodation, coordinating the eyes to work together without strain) that opticians or optometrists don't cover in their basic exams. I had this happen recently when I was prescribed new lenses. I knew there was a strain, but a re-exam showed that I had been given the right prescription. I was experiencing headaches that I hadn't had before the new lenses, and went to a second optometrist, who, guided by what I was reporting, measured that aspect of my vision, and said that indeed, although the optical prescription was correct, the way in which the various muscles coordinated my eyes to work together had changed, causing the headaches. What I noticed during the exam was that it took 7-8 seconds or so before I was able to actually focus what I was seeing, whereas before it had always happened virtually instantaneously -- so there was a strain going on leading to the headaches.

Hi Rosemary,
Interesting. So what could they do about it for you?
