I am taking a remedy recommended by my homeopath during pregnancy. He assures me it is not only perfectly safe, but helpful.
What has your experience been with pregnancy and homeopathy? Does it ever cause harm, no matter how temporary? What happens if you take the wrong remedy? I'd just like to hear more about your experiences.
I noticed that shortly after I started the last remedy, I couldn't feel my baby move much anymore. Today, I switched remedies, and I can start to feel some movement again. Now maybe this was just coincidence, but I wonder if the last remedy decreased my sensitivity to the baby's movements or something.
Thanks,
Helen

Re: homeopathy and pregnancy
as i recall, when pregnant there were times when
the baby didn't move and would push my belly to
check if it was still alive.
the rx may be affecting the baby who is reacting
to you. this does not mean that there is a negative
problem. homeopathy has been used safely and effectively
in pregnancy for many many years. but stay in touch
with your homeopath to monitor the progress.

Re: homeopathy and pregnancy
Hi Helen,
I was taught that pregnancy is a *great* time to be under homeopathic
treatment, because with all the intensity of the process, you can "move
through" a lot, very quickly (that is, accomplish a lot of your own
chronic healing, as well as helping the baby).
Re changes in feeling the baby move, there are various possibilities...
Recalling my own experience of being treated during pregnancy, I found
it interesting: Initially the pregnancy was going extremely well (I'd
been under treatment for a few years already); I recall when I started
to feel the baby move, there was LOTS of movement!!!!! Seemed like he
(as "it" turned out to be) was working up to an Olympic performance,
bouncing, boinking, spinning! I found it amusing, but did faintly
wonder just what that would translate into after birth... A few weeks
after that, I began to have *terrible* problems sleeping--and probably
there were other things, but I don't remember. After taking the remedy
our homeopath prescribed (on basis of my whole case and history), the
two quick and striking changes were (a) sleep became peaceful and easy
again, and (b) my "little dancer" quieted down strikingly. There were
times when there was so little movement (esp. in contrast!) that I
wondered briefly "if everything was alright"--but then movement would
pick up again.
He was born clear-eyed, peaceful, happy and (very!) healthy--tho other
issues did come up down the road, and he wound up getting LOTS more of
that same (known-for-hyperactivity) remedy over the next years! But
I've been very grateful for that sweet, peaceful beginning, *and* for
the "jump start" on his further treatment, not to mention my own.
Enjoy your journey!

Re: homeopathy and pregnancy
Homeopathy was wonderful during my 3rd pregnancy (didn't know about it for my 1st). Nat Mur stopped my preterm labor within hours. I did 5 months of bedrest with my 1st two pregnancies that began around 4 months and lasted until the day I gave birth (10 days late for both)! I never did a day of bedrest with my 3rd thanks to the remedy (but she was still 12 days late!).
My 3rd is so much healthier and calmer than my 1st two. Huge difference.
I would not recommend self-prescribing much during pregnancy but homeopathy can address so many things before the baby is born!
Best wishes for a healthy, happy baby!
Truly,
Erica
