Vital Sensation

Post by muthu kumar »

Has anyone in the group been using the 7 levels and vital sensation
approach of Rajan Sankaran for a few cases and over a period of time
so that you can comment on its effectiveness ?

What is the sphere where it is useful? I would think not acutes - but
is there any case where it is especially useful?

Also how much time does it take for case to be taken and a remedy
diagnosed- how much of the presenting physical symptoms are used in
the anamnesis to find out a remedy?
If the remedy arrived at using this remedy is a common remedy then
does repertorizing the regular / old way get us the same remedy or not?

Good questions!

I would say that the times I've used this method, it's because a particular
sensation has jumped out at me from the casetaking. The majority of cases
don't have this -- but whatever a case has, that's what it makes sense to
use -- vital sensation, miasmatic picture, SRP symptom... At times
addressing a vital sensation has enabled me to prescribe a little known
remedy that has worked beautifully and that I never would have found by
standard repertorization or otherwise. do always try to elicit a vital
sensation by using Rajan's casetaking methodology -- but a lot of people
just don't have a sharp enough awareness or ability to express whatever
sensation might be there (and of course, the "sensations" are much clearer
for plant remedies than other classes of remedies...).

Warmly, Rosemary

Thanks Rosemary-
particular
Isn't this vital sensation supposed to be tracked from case takign
presenting complaints all the way to some Level 6 or 7 and while that
route you also encounter miasm level and kingdom level?

Have you used it in this way tracking it thru levels and finding a
correspondence between the vital sensation and the other symptoms and
able to interpret various levels from this vital sensation?

The majority of cases
sense to
vital
people
clearer

Did you ever come across a polychrest using vital sensation and levels
analysis and if so, could you see the same medicine coming thru
regular case taking and repertorization?

Thanks

not?

Just wanted to let you know that there is a 4 hour multi-media
tutorial on Homeopathic Symposium given by Sankaran himself
explaining his Vital Sensation method. There are also a few
interactive cases demonstrating the method (marked Sensation
Approach).

I haven't used his method myself but there are a number of homeopaths
whose work I respect who have mastered the method and they report
that it has completely transformed their practice. It seems to me
(imho as a teacher of homeopathy for many years ) that since it's a
refinement of technique the main issue is that it should not be
introduced to students until they have a solid grasp of classical
homeopathy otherwise I have seen much confusion arise. There is also
a difference between what Sankaran himself teaches and what others
may teach when they teach his method.

With all the new information pouring into the homeopathic community
it's important we always employ critical thinking.

Carol

(Full disclosure, I'm Director of Education for the Homeopathic
Symposium, and I recommend anyone interested in the Sankaran method
start with his introductory course on the Symposium website.)
