hormone remedy
Re: hormone remedy
Brain tumours make people do strange things, they open unlocked doors within the psyche and mental structures that seem bizarre and unrelated to anything. If the tumour is 'ruling' this case then the situation with the snakes might be arising from that and thus the tumour is what needs to be cured and is much higher ranking than the fear or snakes.
The pituitary secretes a lot of different substances and some them are related to the reproductive sphere and I also have to say that I find it difficult to appreciate an intense fear of snakes without there being a sexual connotation somewhere and this is what makes me think that it is evolving from the tumour state and although a seemingly 'rich' set of sx they are actually the proverbial red herring. It has been stated that there seems to be no sexual imbalance in the case.
Knowing why she has such a fear of snakes would be useful and also a timeline regarding when and how the fear developed.
Also, Hypothlamus was suggested as a rx - maybe Pituitary Gland should also be considered as it has a strong sx of aetiology around pregnancy (but it too has a lot of sexual sx and so the snake sx need sorting, i.e. ranking and may or may not be part of what needs to be cured because it is a side lined sx). Re: hormone remedy
One more small offering on this - Bonnie wrote that the migraines started after the birth of the first child - this could be an important aetiology and made me think that the separation, being cut away from, being detached from the newborn was a powerful causation - could link in with a deep subterranean picture of umbilical cords, giving birth, snakes not nurturing their young, they separate very early on and being cut out and away brings forth a huge fear of snakes and also the migraines - makes me think of the rx Abelmoschus - big fear of snakes, migraines and emotionally very frightened of being detached and separated. Part of the Malvales family and this group is all about being attached and then losing that attachment (giving birth) and so a fearful state emerges around that. Don't have enough time to write more.
All depends on why she has this fear - rational or irrational.
Not sure Abelmoschus has a connection with brain tumours though. Joy

Re: hormone remedy
Thanks Joy, that totally makes sense. So that puts it back to the need
to understand "disease" (in this case understand what's possibly common
to pituitary tumor) in order to recognize what's characterizing.
Thanks for spelling this out for me.

I also had lachesis-looking migraines for years - treated myself and a
well-known homeopath also did. But it wasn't lachesis at all. It was Nux v
So don't let the snakes keep you blind to other polychrests. I see too
many people like at the small or new remedies when a polychrest is so often
the best match.

Re: hormone remedy
Hundreds of remedies have migraines in the sx picture so it is more a question of being very open minded as to the simillimum and yet at the same time drawing in the perimeters so as not to become overwhelmed by the choices. But that is why we take the case - location, sensation, extension, modalities, concomitant sx, causation. Then we rank and give correct importance to sx - this is essential other wise 'a fear of snakes' will dominate more than 'nbws giving birth' etc.
Polycrests will always be polycrests but if we keep calling the so called small rx 'small' they will never be properly understood or used because they will not be considered. Remedies are remedies and are there for the taking AFTER taking the case. It is a bit like deciding too early what the miasmatic influence is within a case or that a hormone type rx is required over and above having an open mind to whatever the simillimum might be. Joy

Re: hormone remedy
Hi Gail,
I am currently treating a patient with a benign pituitary tumor
(prolactinoma) and thinking of prescribing a Lac remedy. I chose the
remedy based on the case and then saw your post about a case of Alize
Timmerman where she treated the patient mostly with Lac humanum. That
got me really excited. Could you say a bit more about the essential
elements of the case? Why Lac-humanum was chosen particulary?
Thanks
