hormone remedy

Post by Bonnieallenart »

37 y.o. has had severe migraines during her menses following the birth of her first child 17 years ago. The only time she has been free of them was during her following pregnancy , she was migraine free for nine
months.
Migraines are typical with the specific of pain beginning at left temple like a hot needle and extending to eye;
sometime goes to right temple.
recently an mri discovered a nonmalignant tumor on her pituitary.
left sided. Tremendous fear of snakes, can't even look at a picture of snakes; nightmare re: snakes..
It seems like a snake remedy...lachesis...snakes, left sided, hormonal, burning , she's very jealous
but lachesis is suppose to be ameliorated by menses..
I thought I should look at the remedy, Hypothalmus...if anyone has info, i'd appreciate it...
thanks,
bonnie

Hi Bonnie,

Was at a Seminar given by Alize Timmerman a couple of weeks ago and I
know we prescibe on the whole patient not the diagnosis - but just
thought I'd mention she presented a case of non-malignant pituitary
tumor which resolved mainly with Lac Humanin. Other remedies also
used as the picture changed including Thuja. One of her points was
that Lac Humanin (and I guess the other Lacs) can be considered as a
remedy with major impacts on the hormonal system.

seemed bull's eye.

From the previous post the migraine pain you described read very much like Spigelia and this rx also has a fear of snakes if that is useful? Joy

sorry, meant also to add that Folliculinum might be worth considering as this has a lot of jealousy, usually of a sexual nature and has menstrual migraines. Also a lot of 'fixed ideas and notions' = snakes and sex? not specifically a fear of snakes but try and say why she has a fear of snakes as the fear might be connected to a snake/sex like theme somehow. makes me wonder why lachesis or any of the other snakes would be considered then

is anyone saying that the benign tumour is directly responsible for the menstrual migraines - if so then Glonoine would come into the equation and Sepia of course but I haven't read all the posts so I am sure this has been suggested as well

as always it is important to rank the sx pertaining to what needs to be cured and thus the fear of snakes might not really be part of the case. Joy

The fear of snakes is so strong that she can't even look at a picture
of a snake, and has nightmares of them... Surely that's something "to
be cured"? Can you explain why you feel it might not be part of the
case at this point?
Thanks,
Shannon

Brain tumours make people do strange things, they open unlocked doors within the psyche and mental structures that seem bizarre and unrelated to anything. If the tumour is 'ruling' this case then the situation with the snakes might be arising from that and thus the tumour is what needs to be cured and is much higher ranking than the fear or snakes.

The pituitary secretes a lot of different substances and some them are related to the reproductive sphere and I also have to say that I find it difficult to appreciate an intense fear of snakes without there being a sexual connotation somewhere and this is what makes me think that it is evolving from the tumour state and although a seemingly 'rich' set of sx they are actually the proverbial red herring. It has been stated that there seems to be no sexual imbalance in the case.

Knowing why she has such a fear of snakes would be useful and also a timeline regarding when and how the fear developed.

Also, Hypothlamus was suggested as a rx - maybe Pituitary Gland should also be considered as it has a strong sx of aetiology around pregnancy (but it too has a lot of sexual sx and so the snake sx need sorting, i.e. ranking and may or may not be part of what needs to be cured because it is a side lined sx).
