Sounds neat, but I would be careful about which tablets you recommend this for. There has been some publicity recently about cutting tablets to reduce the dosage. Apparently cutting open tablets with an enteric coating can have fatal results due to the drugs being released too quickly
Reduction methods:
A -If your son has tablets, then use a dedicated metal nail file to scrape
cumulatively. (This means one dose 1 you scrape once, dose 2 twice and so
on)

A very valid point - The advice of the pharmacist should be sought. However I did mention that the reduction should be in conjunction with the doctor who prescribed the tablet. If such a problem existed one would assume that he would advise accordingly. But one cannot live on assumptions and hence the direct advice of the pharmacist should also be sought.
