Could someone please explain what is the meaning of this sentence under
generalities in Arsenicum..in boenninghausen's mm :
"It sometimes rescues when all appears lost, but only when given in the
smallest doses and the highest potency"
please explain....

Re: please explain....
To my understanding it means that it could help in conditions where
the patient has become feeble with the vital force almost absent. A
drop of 1M dissoved in a glass of pure water and well stirred. A few
drops of this would perhaps be "smallest doses and the highest
potency"
This is my conjecture. Look forward to better informed responses.

Re: please explain....
So how would an LM dose translate as far as "highest potency". Isn't LM really
a low potency? Okay..this is the deal. A friend of my husband's went in
hospital l0 days ago...coughing up blood...lung cancer and the tumor was
pushing on his esophagus and thats where he was bleeding from. He started
hemmoraging in hospital and they did surgery and he stopped bleeding. They
said he had about 4 weeks to live. I...thinking...why not if he is going to
die anyway...gave my husband to give him the LM arsenicum...the seven dose
bottle. He took two doses. He was going to be let out of hospital the next day
and he started bleeding again. they did more surgery and closed off the veins
in the esophagus that were bleeding and then took him off all life support and
expected that the blood would not clot...but the blood starting clotting and
he came out of his coma and started walking around and tho weak ..has more
color in his face. i read that line in boenninghausen the day he was in his
second surgery...and wondered...and thought..what have i done...? So thats
where i'm at. Was LM too low? Was it just right? I'm sure until we see what
happens in the next few weeks...we won't know if he is going to be getting
better and better or worse and worse..I pretty much think he shouldn't take
any more doses... at this point..they are not going to release him from the
hospital..but watch him.
I chose arsenicum on a very brief understanding of the mentality of this
person. He is a decorating contractor and he has to be the boss, the general,
the commander in chief. things have to be done his way and in the proper
order.
Please don't judge me for not taking more time...didn't have it according to
the prognosis. But i would like some discussion about what happened and what
others think. Thank you.

Re: please explain....
I believe it is referring to severe or life threatening situations.
And in these crucial situations, Boenninghausen recommends using
higher (more diluted) potencies of the Arsenic.

Re: please explain....
Yes it does, and here is a nice example:
For example 15 yrs ago, my children's pet rat Miranda had pneumonia,
which we didn't realise (due to our inexperience at that time with
pet rats we thought she was talking to the others - it was coughing),
and when we finally took her to the vet,( by which time she was
really bad) he said she would die as they never recovered when it had
gone this far.
The poor thing was literally heaving to get each breath - each and
every breath was a major struggle
I put Arsenicum 10M in a dropper bottle and put a drop on her head.
I repeated this every hour or so.
She recovered and lived longer than her contemporaries! - albeit with
the need to stop and catch her breath more often than before when she
ran about. I had followed the Ars with phos after a day or so
because she was such a phosphoric type (very friendly and super
sociable) and phos obviously has a strong affinity in that area
(lungs) - but the ARS given 'when all appeared lost' did save her.

Yes, this remedy can help people through the end of life with less pain and
fear. I haven't seen it actually cure hopelessly ill people about to die,
but it does often help everyone to experience the end-of-life fully and
calmly.

Re: please explain....
Arsenicum has a reputation for aiding those who are dying (reducing anxiety); but it's also known as a "corpse reviver." I've seen it work miracles in both types of situations.
