violence?

Post by Shannon Nelson »

What rubrics might be suggested by obsession with head-banger music and
violent movie scenes / video games? Closest I can think of is
"cruelty", and in this case it's definitely not that.

Med comes to mind, and possibly syph, but what else?
Thanks,
Shannon

Hi Shannon,
Insensitivity, repetative motion amel (Tub, Tarent). Does the person like
the same kind of music? Rap? and do things like pace or run when
frustrated? That is Tarent sometimes. If you are insensitive, you do not
notice that your activity is cruel.

Thanks Ann,
Yes Stram is another I've had in mind, but haven't seen *that* much in
the case to support it. Might try, tho, a la Herscu's view that if you
see a *hint* of a "deeper" (pathology-wise) remedy you should give it.
Hep and merc--I don't think so, but will consider... No rubrics come
to your mind either?
Thanks!

He's not that intensely over-active, and not "spider-like" to my eyes.
I *think* it is more a combination of overwound (tho not in a tarent
way to my eyes) and frustration that he has so much trouble
accommodating the "limits" in his environment (time to get up; time to
come home; and especially--time to sit and focus! He tends to have
trouble with that). And maybe some compensatory reaction because not
so very long ago he was quite the opposite--as a little one he could be
creeped out for *months* over a single ill-chosen movie scene! And
lose his appetite entirely for dinner if someone even casually spoke a
word like "bugs" (can't remember what others). So I wonder if this may
be partly counter-phobic, which is what brought stram to mind (briefly
but repeatedly). There has been no identifiable event bringing on this
change, unless maybe the beginnings of puberty!

If he could be out hunting mastodons all day I think he'd be a happy
guy. :-)

Massimo has a great take on Stramonium that I find more reliable than Herscu's cycle. Namely, people who need Stramonium have been so deprived of the basics of life/love that they don't feel they have a right to exist. How this manifests is often in a strangely sweet, submissive behavior (at least initially). They practically fall over themselves with exaggerated politeness, which is really an apology for their existence. They can try so hard to be accommodating that it's painful to watch.

Peace,
Cinnabar
