Photophobia

Post by Rochelle »

Anyone got any suggestions for a photophobia on waking (in the UK) which the patient doesn't get when she is in India where she has a house. She wears a black out eye mask in UK because the slightest chink of light through her curtains upsets the eyes.

All I can find is RUV, Eye; phen; photophobia; time; morning; mod; waking, on:, dirc[1], lach[3], rhus-v[1]

We have tried a dose of Lach 30 to no avail. She is an IDD and the remedies she tends to do well on are Lyco, Nux, and the occasional Sulphur none of which have helped this particular problem. She often says she is tired and irritable but does have a physically demanding busy practice as an osteopath considering her diabetes.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Hi Rochelle,
Just a non-homeopathic thought. When she goes from India to UK, how
long does it take for the photophobia to begin? Nutritional
deficiencies can cause photophobia (vitamin A comes to mind, but I
think there are other possibilities too). Is it possible that change
in diet might give rise to it?
