I searched through the messages and didn't find anything pertaining to
artificial nails. Does anyone know if this procedure affects your
immune system in some way. I decided to use artificial nails since my
nails are so weak and thin that I am pretty much down to nubs for
fingers. If anyone knows anything I sure would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Elizabeth

Re: artificial nails
please write me your complete details and history. there are lot of medicines exist in the homeopathy with regard to nails. for exampls graphities work on black and hard nails. silicia work on week and growthless nails.calcaria carb, argentinum nitricum, mezerium, staphysagria......are some of the medicines. but to prescribe you a specific medicine ......your constitutional picture is essentia. I request you to pl send me a mail stating all your symptoms and constitution. and chill and hot conditions. Mean time i suggest you to go for silicia 6x 4 times a day 4 tablets. till u find the constitutional drug.
you have to use silicia only if you have no T.B. history . and other deep infective problems. ......bye

artificial nails
The use of artificial nails is associated with many problems - you are using relatively toxic materials to glue the artificial nails over your own, creating a non breathing barrier, etc. - and many of the so-called professionals that apply and maintain these 'nails' have a very very poor reputation in hygiene. Many individuals who use artificial nails have problems which they blame on the artificial nails themselves - and the hygiene problems associated with their maintenance. Basically if your own nails are weak and thin it is most likely a warning that your body is not in the best of health - it is your first priority to find out why. If this is a symptom of nutritional problems or environmental contact, these need to be addressed. Since this is a homeopathic list - most of us would recommend that you first seek out a good local homeopathic professional and have a full consultation to address the totality of your health. There are many homeopathic remedies that may help you in growing healthy nails - and rebuilding your immune system - but the best approach is to look at the full picture - not just one symptom.

Re: artificial nails
Elizabeth,
I would worry a lot about fungus, as that is an issue with artificial nails.
Also, the glue used may be toxic, many glues are.
Plus, people in general don't keep their nails as clean when they either
polish them or use the artificial ones.
If you have very weak nails, that could be a sign that your system isn't
working as well as it should be.
So tune up your system and then your nails will be much stronger.
So find a well-trained classical homeopath and work with them.
Best wishes,
Marybeth

Re: artificial nails
I'm just a BIH student. After reading your note just thought I would share what has helped my nails. I had weak nails in the past till I began using Jojoba oil. I rub it on my nails several times a day and it has made them very strong. In the past they were very brittle and dry. Now I have to keep them trimmed.

Re: artificial nails
Tanya,
No they are not implants. Just regular artificial nails from the
salon. I groom dogs and have found them helpful in my job. Easier
to grab the ear hair and pull out. My nails have always been weak
since I was a child. So when I tried the artificial nails a few
years ago-not only did it seem I had strong nails but my hands look
so much nicer. I don't mean to be vain, but I am quite embarrassed
by my nails-they are just very ugly.

Re: artificial nails
I would like to thank everyone for their input. Right now I am
under a workman's comp claim and am unable to see a homeopathic
doctor. I will be doing so when I am done. I am going to try the
Jojoba oil and see how it turns out.
Thanks again,
Elizabeth
