Dear Ellen, just a few more random thoughts

I am tempted to say (and will) forget about trying to define this case
in terms of nosodes - they may or may not be relevant to the case and
besides with such a case you will be able to 'see' many of the major
nosodes and it becomes too theoretical

who has actually diagnosed autism and MS - this too could be a red
herring and become too theoretical or 'named disease' defined - at this
stage you want to be having as open a mind as possible

there is no such thing as a 'healthy rx' all remedies are there to heal
something that is unhealthy or inappropriate to good health

it would be useful to have a time line for these children, from
pregnancy, birth, childhood acutes so far etc

if there are cysts on the brain then that is possibly where the case
begins and what needs to be cured, you need to address that - suggests
a sycotic influence, the mother is >>> Thuja, maybe the child needs
this rx?

the stimulus should also be seen in terms of 'alighting the brain' and
you see this a lot with children who have been brain damaged in some
way, so this might not be as tubercular as you suggest but pertains to
the core of the disease - something going on in the brain

the thyroid function should be checked out - the eating and the fatigue
- could be a metabolic situation

check also for worms - can effect brain function

crowds are a thing of assimilation, absorption, you can disappear in a
crowd, not be noticed and yet also be connected at the same time, they
act as a surround for the nucleus, they engulf, so there can easily be
a feeling of safety being in a crowd and yet not having to take on the
responsibilities of an individual (stranger or otherwise) - you can
have a fear of people but the fear of being alone is much <<< - so it
isn't really a question of finding a rubric for liking crowds but more
a need to identify that situation better

I think the tantrums are reasonable for one who struggles to get
himself understood - why shouldn't he be like that. If, even with the
simillimum, the speech remains poor there is always sign language -
even babies can and do learn this and it can be fun and very fulfilling

put aside you 'senses' about this child as this could get in the way of
finding the simillimum - he may or may not have turmoil, who doesn't,
but you need to concentrate on what needs to be cured and if there is
turmoil it will probably show itself for real at some point during cure

a number of rx like to feel the wind not just Tub - I am not saying
this child doesn't need Tub but just want you to open your mind more to
other rx isn't it calcarea that likes to open the mouth and let the
air in??

take the mother's case fully if necessary and get to understand what
the weeping was all about

other rx I would put into the box = thuja, calcareas, barytas,

Yes, I need to reorganize my notes into individual time lines. It was the
most confusing case taking. The mother could only think in terms of
comparing children. Actually, it was best to just follow her lead.

I read the professional disease reports. They were not very informative and
anyway I am backing away from disease symptoms. At the same time,
understanding the tissue change is important. The brain seems quite obvious
as the target tissue. I don't think I have ever seen a remedy described in
terms of brain cysts. Brain inflammation maybe?? These parents don't know
about the specifics of the disease. (locations in the brain are out of their
knowledge field).

The children hold their bodies very stiffly. The inner core is weak and
they are trying to maintain a stable posture with their external muscles.
This is a metaphor for their life too. Rigid routines are essential. Again
this is disease information.

One reason I am so stuck on Tub with this boy is the comparison with his
father (tub) is so obvious. This is not the case with the other children.
I am really lucky to have the other children as comparisons.

Yes tantrums are reasonable given his limitations. He is not necessarily
retarded in his ability to think and feel. He is retarded in his ability to
express himself. He is just recently learning to use pictures so I suspect
he is behind those babies who communicate with pictures.

I'll check out the crowd feeling and the mother's crying. She is a thuja so
her stories keep changing. She is trying to please and tell me what she
thinks I want to hear. So particularly her self descriptions are not very
reliable.

How do I check out for worms? Have him checked by a doctor for worms? He
will be given meds. The mother does not yet understand that homeopathy is a
complete medical system. She will give him the meds. Educating is not
easy.

This boy and his younger brother were diagnosed with the "disease" in
utero. Would worms still affect them? Or you mean they could exacerbate
the problem.

I see you are thinking in terms of very "normal" remedies. I will try to
open my little Hercu made box. Here's what his box looks like. Herscu says
if you don't go deep enough in the beginning, often nothing really gets at
the problem. You could give Stramonium first, but if you don't go to the
necessary deeper level the stramonium will never work. (true or not I don't
know. I think he means that if the deeper level remedy is actually what is
called for.) Calc would be a very healthy sick kid. (obviously this is not
your experience) According to Herscu, all the major polycrests are not as
disturbed as these kids are. Nosodes go a step deeper. Then in Hersu's
system, stramonium and bart-carb take remedies in two dirrections. Dull is
the bartya direction. Hyperactive is the stramonium direction. Below those
two are a list of several remedies. Opium, Hell, arn, bufo, cann-i in the
dull direction. Hyos, tarent and verat in the hyperactive direction. I
suspect Herscu does not work with such a simple chart in his real practice.
But this chart is a heuristic devise for teaching autistic-like cases. I am
not sure that I could pigeon hole these kids are either dull or
hyperactive. I witnessed both scenes.

I have only one other autistic case and it is not going so smoothly. So I
can't say if this chart works. My other case involves a 17 year old boy and
it is hard to get good feed back for follow ups. I really hope that the
above case goes better. In any case the remedy has to fit the case, so no
chart is going to cover that basic requirement.

just use the sx and not someone else's theories otherwise you will prescribe on that theory
and not for the case although I have to say I disagree with Herscu's thinking anyway - you
are aiming for the simillimum whatever rx it turns out to be

just a little thought about the 'crowds' - interesting that they were dx in utero, we know
that Calcarea needs the shell as a safety zone and being born is a loss of the uterus as a
safety zone but crowds and being >>> in a crowds is a way back to that safety as you
fuse with others - Grandgeorge talks of calcarea in this way, fear of leaving the shell and
so they spend their lives tryng to rebuild the protective shell - as well as all the other
aspects of calcarea as we know it as a rx, building structure, skeletons etc. It is also a very

Hmm that is very interesting!!! Trees and wind might be similar??? Too bad
I can't talk to the child. Strangers, changing situations are not good for
this child. He also responded very well to shiatsu. He liked compression.
His sister was the opposite. But I have a feeling that this love of
compression, hugging may be very normal. THere are hug machines are being
used with autistic children. Probably all don't respond. There is a famous
high functioning autistic woman (Temple Grandin). She designs enclosed
runways etc for slaughter houses based on the feeling that she feels like a
cow. Dangling chains and loud noises would drive her nuts. Not a good
state of mind for death. She has MacDonald's certify slaughter houses so
they treat the cow "humanely" before they are slaughtered. A very
politically savy move. Anyway, after a hard day inspecting slaughter
houses, (she is also an engineering professor) she comes home to her
self-designed hug machine. She lays in something that I image is like a
coffin and the air bags around her blow up to give her a big hug. That
helps her to relax. Isn't this like the womb and shiatsu?

Herscu is known for doing a lot of autistic-like cases. It is hard for me
to ignore him. But in principle, I am sure even he would agree with you.
There is no magic schema. To hear him talk, he is clearly working way
beyond his chart. (I have only heard tapes) Sometimes those heuristic
devices help to orient outsiders. After you get oriented, you forget about
the device and do the real work.
