:-) Nah, I think that was a "smacks self on forehead" rather than
"miaow"...
And Tracy's seems so marvelously to-the-point (Tracy--how did you come
across it?).

But can anyone explain to me why the rubric "Malaria, ague, ailments
from" contains only eup-a, malar, plan, poly-p, psor, sulph, tarax,
verbe-h--no China??? Nor chin-s, for that matter?

No, probably like everyone else I looked at a number of possible remedies
first, and ended up wondering, like Simon, if Didi prescribed China
according to a 'nbws malaria medicine' causation, given that she did not
present many other homoeopathic indications in the case. That's all. Will
wait for Didi to confirm or whatever.

(It seems you took it from "Complete Rep"?)

Murphy's, which doesn't have an "ailments from" malaria rubric, nevertheless has the general

F; Fevers; MALARIA, fever (19) :
Arn., Cedr., Chin., Eup-per., Psor., Ter., arg-n., chin-s., eucal., ferr., nat-m., nat-s., nux-v., sulph., abies-n., carb-ac., chin-ar., ip., verat-v.

And under Toxicity- Quinine & China abuse

T; Toxicity; QUININE, poisoning, (see China) (52) : Arn., Calc., Carb-v., Ferr., Ip., Nat-m., Puls., ant-t., apis, ars., bell., chin., chin-s., cina, hep., lach., ph-ac., phos., sep., sulph., verat., am-c., asaf., aza., bry., calc-ar., caps., carb-an., cham., chelo., coloc., cupr., cycl., dig., eucal., ferr-ar., gels., hell., kali-ar., mang., meny., merc., nat-p., nat-s., nux-v., parth., plb., ran-s., samb., sel., stann., sul-ac.

T; Toxicity; CHINA, abuse, (see Quinine) (31) : Hep., ars., bell., calc., carb-v., ferr., hell., ip., nat-m., puls., sel., sulph., verat., ant-t., aran., arn., cham., coff., eup-per., iod., lach., led., meny., merc., nat-c., nux-v., ph-ac., rhus-t., salv., sep., thea.

Thanks Didi,
Yes, I should have looked under "fever". There I do find
"Intermittent, chronic, ague, malarial (212)" and, viola! subrubric
"Periodic, fourteen days, 10 rx including chin-s. Phew! :-)

And also the similar rubric for abuse of quinine, and the abuse of
china one, except that it says "Abuse of china, without quinine
cachexia"--same list of remedies.
So that just means that you've got problems from overuse of china, but
don't have the facial appearance of being at death's door? ??
Thanks!
Shannon
