Thanks Rosemary, that's good to know! Would you say to e.g. "take a
sip every five minutes until it's sufficiently improved", or what do
you tell them?

Re: How to use Arnica 1M ?
Hi, Shannon.
I would give a dry dose of the potency available, also make a water potency.
Then I would tell the person (or myself) to take a sip 20-30 minutes later,
then another 30 minutes later, OR until they notice the first effect from
the remedy, then take another sip when progress stops happening or symptoms
start to recur. If they've taken 3 doses and can afford to wait, I ask them
to wait at least a few hours or even overnight to judge effects of the
remedy (sometimes a lower than the right potency takes longer to work, but
eventually does). Personally, I'm pretty sensitive, so any low potency of
the right remedy for an acute situation produces a rapid effect, and I can
go from there. But some people need more of a remedy to get a first
reaction, so this allows for that possibility before deciding it's not the
right remedy. And of course if something needs to happen fast, in a real
emergency, if I were giving a lower potency than I'd like to give, I'd speed
up that schedule a lot, and have them take a sip every 3-5 minutes till we
see a positive effect, or make a switch to a different remedy quickly,
depending on their reaction.
It's pretty individual, depending on the person, the situation, and the
potency available vs. what's probably needed.

But if she begins to have pain sooner than seven days later, she should
certainly repeat the dose sooner; and if no pain returns after seven
days then there would be no need for further doses... I used Arnica 1M
once on myself after surgery (knee), and needed only a few doses total,
but the first few were closer together (almost daily), then spaced out
rapidly as the wound healed!

Hi, Shannon--
Regarding your experience of the speed with which Arnica can relieve pain (when given appropriately), I am reminded of a long-ago accident in which I fell down some stairs into a cast iron radiator. The pain was bad enough that I thought it would prevent sleep that night. A few minutes after taking Arnica 30c, as I lay in bed aching and throbbing, there was a sensation of something being mobilized in my body, like endorphins riding to the rescue. Then the pain abruptly clicked off, just like a light switch. Wonderful!
Peace,
Cinnabar

Hi Cinnabar,
Nice! I felt similar sensation when using it post-surgery (just a
knee). But in that case it was a localized pain only, and it felt like
a sudden sort of... like tingling, or "sparkling"?? at the area of
pain, and then as you said, clicked off like a light switch.
similarly sudden and dramatic shift from... Another was during a
severe (semi-acute?) illness, part of which involved feeling just
bone-cold, for what had already been quite a few days at that point.
When I took the remedy, right at that instant it felt as tho warm
liquid light had been poured into me, filling me from the toes and
quickly spreading throughout, and just in an instant I felt nearly
normal again, energy mostly back and everything--just amazing!
