Does anyone have good ideas on books that give a good picture as to the
personality type of some remedies?

Another which I have just bought is The Spirit of Homeopathic Remedies by Didier Grandgeorge which briefly does 300 remedies.

Rochelle, Where did you get it? I just looked at Minimum price and
it's not there. I found all of the ones Michele recommended but not
this one.

I use Vermulen's prima a lot because he draws on other sources. But I also
find that individual authors have a perspective and it really helps to have
read their stuff in depth to get that. The problem is the personality of a
remedy can be quite subjective, also different authors are tend to have a
certain uniformity in their experience. Fop example, Sankaran (Am Insight
into Plants) will give you a passive cancer miasm (according to his
typology) of anacardium. You will not find that in other books but in the
context of Sankaran's work and with his particular sensitivity and
comparisons among plant families his "discovery" of a passive anacardium
is quite plausible. Sankaran will set you up for understanding his
findings by laying out the framework for his thought process. The same goes
for Mangialavori of Jan Sholten. You might get a quote from Vermeulen which
would give you the basic idea presented by Sankaran, but you would not get
the whole idea. To remember this ton of stuff, getting the framework is
useful.

Another good book that can be added to the list of books would be Prisma by
Frans Vermeulen, this and the book by Didi Grandgeorge are invaluable as far
as personality types are concerned... Coulter is brilliant but perhaps a
little too lengthy (but a must read), Baily unfortunately does not reference
his work, which is a downfall, and seems to regurgitate other's works,
believe it or not one should not go past the works of people like Mary Tyler
and Kent, let alone Hahnemann in the beginning.... but the more modern would
be the first few. Another who is brilliant as well is Vithoulkas.
