Hi Rochelle-
This dried egg like sensation or appearance - was it a sensation that
the patient complained of or what you felt it was like? Was that
subjective ( to the patient) or objective ( what you observed)?

Thanks Robyn but unfortunately she doesn't get psoriasis on her face which
was why I felt I couldn't use this rubric. I wonder if this is the same
rubric that Joy found as I haven't had a chance to check Kent yet?

It was a sensation that the patient had when the psoriasis is at it's
worst - very dry.

To be fair and more precise it was described as if wallpaper paste were
dried on the skin - this gives a common sensation a peculiar edge. Joy

Can you explain more what you mean Joy please? I really am going to work
more on the case this afternoon but am typing up another new one from
yesterday at the moment - At least that one was more straight forward to
prescribe for!!

Dear Rochelle, I was just re-asserting the sensation as you wrote what
the client said about the wallpaper paste sensation in case anyone else
wanted to contribute. Dry skin, or a feeling of dry skin is common
enough in skin conditions but when this is further described as like
wallpaper paste, which you can imagine would give a 'pulling' sensation
or really tight/tense feeling as it dries, even as if the skin is being
smothered or covered up, not breathing (vis her remark about unpicking
herself and being claustrophobic) then this becomes much more specific
and raises a common sx (hundreds of rx) to something more special
(fewer rx) and that is why I suggested the rubric re egg white.

Do you know how long she has been suppressing this by the way, either
through emotions or medications and do you have a reference for how it
appeared when it first erupted? Best, Joy (you've got to feel warm
today)

That was a very good suggestion about the sensation-
there is a sensation as if hidebound, different kinds of drawn-tight
sensations as well but I think the drying of the white of egg on face
is a good analogy-

there is also a sensation of glue - Alum but this is also part of the
"egg" group of remedies

I have found the wind chilly, despite the fact the sun is out but have been
sat in my sun trap typing out yesterday's new case until my battery ran out.
Having both children living in very warm climates is why I don't find warmth
in the English sun at 19-20 degrees!!!!I think I am procrastinating on this
psoriasis case:-) as I really want to find a constitutional Rx based on her
M and E's

I don't rate Carc for her because of something she said. I asked her if
could pick up on people's feelings and she was quite definate that she
couldn't. I feel that a sensitivity to people's feelings is quite an
integral part of the Carc picture. It goes with the fact that they can't say
"no" to people. There is also nothing in her family medical history to
suggest Carc. I don;t know what you think. The eruption is better for
bathing she said but particularly salt water.
