apparently, with vertigo in cats, there is a particular eye twitching when
the head
moves. i am thinking that it may be when the eye is trying to compensate
for the, literally, cock-eyed view of the world the cat has when the head
is so tilted.

I don't have access to my notes, but a Google search will bring up tons of info on vestibular syndrome. It's a disturbance of the vestibular (balance) mechanism, thought to be caused by a virus. Very common in older animals. Don't know if the convulsions are related, but there can be seemingly spastic movements, which are probably overcompensation, though after the initial attack an animal may not want to move (or eat).

i think it will probably be impossible to know for sure at this point, but
i am thinking that
there was a high level of toxic build up in the brain due to the earlier
kidney problem which
triggered the condition. the blood test results came in on wednesday and
showed no
significant problem. there was a minor elevation of the nutrophils
indicating a minor
bacterial problem. after 9 days with low level laser and nat mur LM1, the
cat is doing so well.
even the head is straightening out and her eating has improved
significantly encouraging
weight gain.

there is some thought that the ear problem may have a long hx since she
used to fall off
a railing on a regular basis when she had a rodent ulcer on her lips. at
that time there was
a lump in her throat/neck near the ear which i think impacted the inner ear
balance
mechanisms. she had been treated with remedies several yrs ago for the
rodent ulcer
but there may have been some residual effect that didnt noticeably manifest
till the current episode.

just some thoughts, trying to make sense out of it. i really do not think
she has a brain
tumor or cerebral embolism as the allopathic vets wanted to believe. they
were very
resistent to think about vertigo or other causes.
