Sjogren's syndrome
Has anyone had any success with Sjogren's syndrome? Is there any other way of repping it other than combining dry eyes and dry mouth?

Re: Sjogren's syndrome
Rochelle,
I had very nice results with a well chosen constitutional remedy. Kali carb
is the one I remember off the top of my head. Cured the condition. But
she relapsed two years later after an illness, got back on track with two doses
of the same remedy.
Best wishes,
Marybeth

Re: Sjogren's syndrome
Thank you Marybeth for that as I am about to type up the case and find a
constitutional for her. As I said I would be interested to know what rubrics
to use other than the ones I mentioned

Re: Sjogren's syndrome
Sx of the case surely - this condition is all about chronic
inflammation caused by what is often referred to as an autoimmune
disease. If she doesn't have the accompanying connective tissue
problems that come with this condition then this is primary Sjogren
syndrome I believe but inflammation, almost anywhere, is the driving
force and causation can sometimes be attributed to yeast infections.

Re: Sjogren's syndrome
Interesting Joy. No she has no accompanying connective tissue problems that
I am aware of. She came because of palpitations (this can wake her from
sleep), feelings of panic, hyperventilation. This first started many years
ago. Anxiety < mornings and evenings. She may be perimenopausal according
to blood tests. . She seems to think she hyperventilated as a teenager on
and off and when the kids were little. The present aetiology seems to be a
divorce with her ex husband still floating around wanting to make a fresh
start of it but as she said she gave him lots of chances and doesn't want
him back physically. She didn't want a remedy as she is fearful of the
reaction because of how badly she reacts to allopathic drugs - she took
penicillin once and had a very bad reaction to it. She came to me for EFT
and as an exercise and in case she changes her mind when she next sees me I
thought I would try to come up with a constitutional. Interestingly in the
latest Murphy's (3) rep I am beta testing there are a lot more Rx for fear
of the medicine.
Murphy3, Mind; FEARS, phobias, general; medicine, of not being able to bear
any kind of, all-s[1], ars[1], carc[1], crot-h[1], lach[1], med[1], merc[1],
phos[1]

Re: Sjogren's syndrome
Who diagnosed the sjogren syndrome then - dry eyes and mouth can be the
end result of all sorts of reasons.
I reckon if the bowel nosodes had been properly/fully proved they too
would have fear of taking the medicine considering a number of them
have NBWS allopathic drugs. Best, Joy

Re: Sjogren's syndrome
Her optician picked it up as a possibility when she was finding difficulty
wearing contact lenses and said she suffered from a dry mouth. However since
she also tells me that when her eyes feel gritty and smarting and she
closes them she can have lachrymation from them so you are quite correct it
may not be Sjogren's!!
BTW is there a rubric for NBWS allopathic drugs?

Re: Sjogren's syndrome
I would be tempted to forget the dx of sjorgrens - it is a really
serious and deep seated condition and although it might be there
somewhere you can only go with her sx.
For the rubric I would use the toxicity chapters that some reps have,
i.e. toxicity, drugs, oversensitive to + hypersensitive to allopathic
drugs. Penicillin would be Gaertner (very anxious and fearful) or
Morgan. Best, Joy

Re: Sjogren's syndrome
Dear Joy,
You are probably correct about the Sjorgrens.
I've found
Murphy3, Toxicity; ANTIBIOTICS, poisoning, ailments, from; penicillin, from,
ars[1], calad[2], chin[1], chin-s[1], nit-ac[2], pen[1]
Murphy3, Toxicity; HYPERSENSITIVE, increased susceptibility; drugs, to
allopathic, acon[1], arn[1], ars[2], carc[1], cham[1], coff[1], lyc[1],
med[3], nit-ac[3], nux-v[1], puls[3], sep[1], sil[1], sulph[3]
No Gaertner there but she is fearful and anxious so that is a Rx I will
study thanks. Personally I think she needs a dose of Ignatia. There was a
lot of gulping being done when she was taking.

'Dry eye', which can be Sjorgens among other conditions, does have 'tearing' as part of it in many
cases. The problem is that the 'tears' are not chemically balanced, and the eyes are not lubricated
enough --- so 'dry eye' can also have lachrymation as a complete symptom.
There is a rubric EYE-DRYNESS - sensation of -accompanied by lachrymation ---- with only one rem
Staph. Staph also has the dry mouth, palpitations, and anxiety --- as do many other rems.
Here is a list of symptoms that can accompany Sjorgens.
Also, in my rep, under keratoconjunctivitis (which is 'dry eyes') there is an interesting set of
rems, and then compare it to dry eyes and dry mouth.
Sjorgen's is systemic, so affects the whole body, not just the eyes and salivary glands which are
the most common symptoms that present. It can affect the Central Nervous system, and anxiety and
depression can result, among other symptoms, however this is uncommon.
What your client has may not be Sjorgen's, but it cannot be discounted at this point -- and a
correct diagnosis would be the way to go to be sure ---- a look through these symptoms should give
you more questions to ask in the very least if you decide you want to go in that direction.
It seems that alot of people who are eventually diagnosed with this syndrome, don't notice their
symptoms as being too important --- and only when someone like the eye specialist offers the
possibility when adding dry eyes to dry mouth, do they start to realise how 'dry' things are. Ninety
percent of sufferers are women, so anyone complaining of dry eyes and dry mouth, to a health
professional would likely think of this as a possibility.
Anyway, here are the other areas of the body that can also be affected.
