White Noise to Sleep

Post by myirishenergy »

I've heard of this before but I can't find it in the repertory.
I use the Repertorium Universale so if anyone can tell me where it is
that a person needs White Noise to Sleep I'd appreciate it.
They need to hear a buzzing noise or fan going.
Snoring or hearing animals outside will keep them awake.
If they have the White Noise, they will sleep.
thanks
Emily

If no one comes up with anything better I would use the rubric 'falling
asleep difficult' + crossing with the rubric 'excitement amel' (as
white noise is a kind of stimulation) + I would also use a rubric such
as 'distraction >>>' if there is such a rubric - such as you might get
in the rx Piper methysticum which has the keynotes >>> of pains by
diverting the attention + difficulty falling asleep.

But as always ask "Why" the person has to do this - it could simply be
an inability to sleep because of more ordinary noise disturbance and
many rx have that. Joy

But "white noise" is also the *opposite* of distraction... If he were
fallilng asleep to the radio, or easier when there is commotion in the
house, that would seem like more to do with "distraction". But needing
white noise is more common for people who are overly *sensitive* to
distraction, and need that "blanking" effect to soothe them. For
instance autistic kids, I have read, do much better with white noise to
muffle the other, "distracting" noises.

Maybe "oversensitive to noise"... But in any case, I absolutely agree
about asking why!

Yes over sensitive to distraction. Light sleeper.
He said when he goes to bed, his wife has to go too because she
makes noise and he can't sleep.
He's very apathetic - he said he can detach himself from people
easily - his family - hasn't talked to his brother in 2 years for no
apparent reason, tall, slender, spicy foods, has anger issues,
sleeps on his right side, is a worrier and has a feeling of being
overwhelmed at too much to do. Worries about what he has to do and
he's got a feeling of not being good enough. Plus likes alcohol -
not an alcoholic - has a right sided knee injury/stiffness.
I thought of Phos but he does not like ice cold drinks or have heart
palpitation. He does have that sparkle in his eye. Not depressed.
Seems like everything else is pointing to Phos.
Thanks for your feedback
