Hello Lucy -
I believe that the people I was talking about did drink small amounts
of freshly extracted vegetable juices - and plenty of water, of
course. (I drink only water, but then my fasting is not intended as a
target-specific therapy.) The rationale is that cancer cells cannot
survive without glucose (which translates into "sugar"). Of course
muscles need glucose, too; but apparently muscles can resist without
it longer than the cancerous cells.
Anyway, a good, reputable expert in fasting therapy would be a very
good idea. And there are even fasting "buddies" available all over the
internet, to support each other.
I think Tanya mentioned Dr. Budwig's diet. I am glad; her diet does
seem to have helped many people. Perhaps that would be the optimal
next step, after the fasting has been completed.

Re: Breast cancer
Dear Arista
Although when one fasts, one's blood sugar levels do come down, they do not
go to Zero. During a fasting period, the blood sugar level is maintained by
the body's conversion of muscle and fat to glucose.
So the cancer cells will receive their sugar requirements as with other
cells.
We therefore need to see evidence to show that cancer cells need a high
level of blood sugar level to multiply and survive.
Surgical evidence shows that tumours are very good at establishing a
sufficient blood supply system for themselves at the expense of the rest of
the organism.
So please give further evidence and references if you have them

Re: Breast cancer
Hello Soroush -
again, I simply must direct any potential fasting "patient" to the various
specialists that abound in both in the virtual and the "real" world. I can
only speak for myself (as I did) and also tell the truth of what I've seen
(by that I mean those people that I have seen regain their health by
fasting).
After reading about that poor woman's case - and having seen the recoveries
I mentioned - I would have felt like a criminal had I not mentioned fasting
as an option. (I am sure everyone knows the feeling! )
Having done fasting purely to enhance my own health and well-being I never
became as interested in the specific action of fasting on the different
organs and physiology in general as some other people, those who opted for
it to try and save their lives, might have been. (Not that every single one
of them was really interested in the specifics; I know of at least two cases
when people actually did not want to know how and why it works.)
But, again, there is lot of material on fasting available both on the
internet and in libraries, if anyone is interested. More to the point, there
are flesh-and-blood fasting specialists who can explain the mechanism - if
an explanation is needed - much MUCH better than I could..
I mentioned it here simply because I felt it was my duty towards a fellow
human in dire straits.
Kind regards,
A.
