Re Coffee

Post by Jeremy Crowley »

In general coffee is very unhealthy and best left behind
but a coffee addict should not be denied treatment
Before I became interested in Health and Homeopathy I used to drink lots of
coffee, then I stopped, and only used it for emergencies, I found that after
one cup of coffee I eg. could drive through the night or whatever. Or if I
had been 'overdoing it' I could function and not fall asleep during a
consultation.
The times I really overdo it are on skiing trips. I usually lead groups and
feel obliged to ski harder than everyone else and stay out late with the
hardest drinkers. It's a tough job but someone has to do it ;-) I survive untill
I get home, then I NEED coffee. For a long time I avoided coffee unless I
really needed it, going to bed early, getting some sleep during the day between
appointments, setting the alarm to wake me 15 minutes before my next client
and only drinking cofee when I could not avoid it. I considered the coffee to
be allopathic, borrowing energy.
Strangely I found that sometimes the effect of one coffee would last two or
three days. I also noticed that I felt just as shattered after a trip when I
got to bed early most nights (had to get an early bus home or a very
expensive taxi). It was a great trip though. It was the fun and excitement that wore
me out, not the lack of sleep.
ie coffee was the remedy I needed, - Ailments from Joy - as it says in the
old books.
OK coffee is better known for insomnia than too much sleep, but a check in
the repertory confirms it as a remedy for sleeping too much too. Most things
have two polarities, ( I believe it is two polarities, not a primary and
secondary effect)
I had a friend do a muscle test and Coffee tested positive, coffea-t 200
even more so. So now I have coffea, or the odd cup of coffee when required. The
coffee is pleasant
and convenient and generally does the job. Perhaps I do need the nux vomica
a little more often. Is that because the Nux is beeing antidoted, or is the
coffee just allowing me to abuse my body even more?
Never mind, the season is nearly over and so far I seem to have survived
another year!
