PC1 question

For the folks who have been opposed to this approach, I am curious: In
your opinions if PC1 is called something other than homeopathy--let's
just say it's being called "Peter's medicines"--would that remove your
objections, or do you also feel that homeopaths should not be using it,
whether it works or not?

Why is it that the comments about whether something may or may not
correctly be called homeopathy is never made at the beginning of
these discussions? Such a simple thing to state and resolve.

It seems mandatory that there be a torrent of emotive ripostes
whenever any question that is not strictly classical homeopathy is
raised, before the simple question of nomenclature is proffered. This
same pattern is repeated over and over on these discussion lists.

Surely if one is in a position to educate, then indignation or even
outrage is not an effective or appropriate method of instruction;
when ever has the imparting of information been best achieved by
intolerance?

Hear-hear, Simon!
We keep lumping the various issues all together, until it becomes not a
matter of "is it homeopathy", "does it work", and "is it compatible
with a homeopathic practice", but just a great grey mushy lump that
basically amounts to, "Does it make me feel good to talk about?",
segueing into "Since it makes me feel yukky, the people who like it (or
do it or started it) must be yukky people too." At least that is how
many of the exchanges read to me.

So what to do, when the discussion *does* make some of us feel yukky?
Maybe first look inside to see why.
Maybe see if those individuals (and *any* of us when we feel a
blistering retort bubbling up fun as they are...) can formulate
the problem to the list--"This whole thing makes me feel really
uncomfortable, and I think this is why..." That might be a way to get
the *real* objections on the table, and talk about the issues in a more
focussed and factual way?

In this particular case maybe those facts have already come out--some
worry about damage to homeopathy's image; and about degrading the
quality of our homeopathic teaching... And there is the simple matter
of needing to have boundaries on "what's homeopathy".
Well, I'll end this post in the middle... It's probably an annoying
post, tho I'm not meaning to that way...
