Yes you must get the heat out. You cannot put the linseed oil mix on a hot burn. That roast you took out of the oven will continue to cook for 45 minutes on the counter. The burn will continue to cause damage as long as it is still hot. Stop the burning first and quickly, then immediately move the area to a heat source. Remember third degree or full skin burns injure the nerve supply so they will not hurt. You need the surrounding skin to signal enough heat. You may not have to cool minor burns, but the larger ones will need it.

agree, stop the burn first, then apply raw, treatment free honey and bandage. depending on how bad the burn replace honey and bandage regularly more often with more severe burns

When I say take the heat out of it I do not mean stop the burning pain. I mean literally to stop the burn from continuing to damage the skin, like with my hot jelly.

I prefer a dry heat for kitchen burns, I will hold the area as close to the pot, fire or oven for as long as I can stand it. I do that 3 or 4 times.

Don't change the bandages on this treatment it will damage the granulating tissue, just keep the bandage moist by adding more mixture as it dries.

Adding another possibility to this wonderful tool chest for burns, there was a terrific article by one of our best-known past homeopaths, but I'm no longer certain who -- maybe Marjorie Blackie; someone of that ilk and generation, I think -- about calendula lotion (i.e., calendula tincture in water for even severe burns. The method was to clean the burns as usual, then dress with gauze soaked in calendula tincture (I don't think specific proportions were given; I have been told e.g. a tsp of tincture of a cup of water? anyone know?). Keep the bandage damp with the lotion, but don't change them while the wounds are healing, and even 3d degree burns can heal without scarring. I have been thankfully unable to personally test this method!

In the old days the saying was to put butter on a burn. You can't do that now but in the old days they put calendula in the butter to colour it yellow. Effectively calendula ointment. Not anymore.

Causticum worked beautifully on a patient who'd burned her arms with cigarettes (deliberately), but I've also used Ignis successfully in glass-blowing accidents.

I think it just proves there is more than 1 road to success.

Of course if the burn symptoms/sensations indicate, different remedies are for different burns.
Just good to know everyones’ experience to see the range of possibilities that have provided success
