Quinolones

Hi, I'm a lurker venturing into real time...

Does anyone have any experience with a group of drugs called
'quinolones', common names: Cipro, Levaquin, and more? Some info
here: http://www.antibiotics.org/

I have a patient who is almost sure he is suffering long-term effects
of taking this drug while ill a few years ago. I'm not looking for
specific advice about this case but am interested to hear of others
thoughts & experiences of treating long-term effects of drugs such as
these.

Perhaps I will need to explain more than this but I'm not sure what
you'll want to know so best if I wait for any questions.

It would be helpful to know which effects your patient attributes to Cipro
or whatevery quinolone he was given.

Hi Ida-

Not just Quinolones but for any allopathic or herbal remedy as well-
if they are not being currently used and it is only the long term
effects that are felt now - they can be reversed using homeopathic
remedies.

The remedy that covers the current symptomatology in its entirety due
to the alleged poisoning will remove the long term effects as well.

If you think about it for how many of the diseases that we have can
we know the causative factor? usually all ailments are multi-
factorial and they may involve chronic allopathic dosing as well and
still homeopathic medicines are effective against all of this. So,
this present group of symptoms can also be treated similarly even
without knowing if Quinolones are the real reason or not...

I have once stopped an intermittent fever caused by Rifamycin using
Nat.mur 200. It did not completely stop the recurrence ( the
allopathic drug was still being used and I did not know it) but it
did not appear the week I gave Nat.mur. Rifamycin causes a flu-like
syndrome if given as a Pulse therapy ( weekly -once dose) and
strangely this phenomenon does not occur with daily doses of
Rifamycin. The day the patient took the weekly dose the fever
occurred. The patient was taking this because of her leprosy and she
did not tell me this due to the stigma attached to the disease.

There are some tautopathic medicines available for this group of
allopathic drugs as well which might help, though I have never
prescribed from a tautopathic point of view except probably steroids
and some hormones in potencies.

Mostly musculoskeletal pain, particularly in lower limbs. Also
general body aches & pains, particularly in his lower back and
hands. He also suffers depression and anxiety.

Hi Ida -
Gather some modalities if possible. The primary side-effect could be
depression and the vague musculo skeletal pains could be part fo
depression itself.

Get some details of circumstances each of these occur, how he was
before allopathic medication, why he went for the medicines first of
all, after medication what disappeared and what appeared etc.

Getting to know the modalities might be the key...

Great, I will do all that.

I have some modalities but I don't have the case notes with me. I do
think the depression is a side effect and it is mostly only when he
is feeling physical pain that he becomes depressed about it and fears
for his future health.

That is probably true-

Any chronic pain can lead to depression and in this case that is more
than possible. And depression in turn could cause pains. Might be
difficult to sort them out.

Whatever it is - getting a concrete picture well rounded out with
modalities is important... if the pain has some good modalities it
might be the best.
