Relaxation migraine?

Can anyone suggest a rubric (or rx) for this--"It's not uncommon that
we would go on vacation and the next day he'd have a 'relaxation
migraine'"? I know I've heard one, but can't find!

Dear Shannon, this sounds like the Nux vomica 'weekend' headache.
Because Nux needs stimulants -and that includes working hard non-stop,
being busy, go go go etc so that when they come to not being able to do
that and they have to relax (if you can call it that with Nux) then
they get the migraine. The rubric must be in the periodicity section,
or being busy or occupation << and there is a rather silly rubric of
'headaches in business people' and Nux is there. There is also
'headaches after excitement' which would fit because after excitement
comes the downer, the resting period. Best wishes, Joy

Yup, its what cured me - Nux v - 10 years ago! Yes!

Would always have them when I conducted a conference, retreat, after all
was set up (not that there was nothing to do...................but as Joy
says ..........." so that when they come to not being able to do that and
they have to relax (if you can call it that with Nux)"..................).
Or when I flew from US to Europe to lead a tour, the first few days I was
here after the push to get ready to leave.

That's exactly when I used to get my migraines which stopped for good years

I also think that the other remedies that fall into this category are
those that pertain to 'duty' and 'overwork' such as Nat mur and Sepia
for example. They work so hard that when they stop they feel so guilty
about relaxing that a strong physical sx such as a migraine 'punishes'

I'll have to comb these rubrics more--which might need to wait until
after our long weekend...
But for the person I'm considering, the "duty" and "overwork" issues
definitely apply. I've already prescribed cuprum (before his wife
mentioned that angle to the headaches), and don't see it in those
rubrics (sob), so I may be back to the drawing board with it, but we'll
see.

I am not sure about the "pain" punishing them etc. but I have used
Nux vom. a lot for people who had symptoms starting at retirement.
Whenever someone says that their complaint started after retiring -
Nux vom has mostly worked for me- even a case of diabetes and a case
of backache - both starting after retiring.
