Dear Leela and Simon,
I think it is obvious that we work with the soul. We have no choice. You know the Zen Koan of the cat that wanders into the meditation room? The students are fighting over the cat. The Zen master grabs the cat and says if you can tell me something about this cat I will not cut it in half. The students are silent, so the cat is divided. Later another student, Joshu meets the master and the master tells this rather advanced student about the incidents. Joshu replies by putting his shoe on his head and walking out. The masters throughout the ages have asked students to think of themselves as the cat, the Master, the students and Joshu. That is we are each everyone of these characters all the time. The cat is of course the decision to draw the line between homeopathy as something less than a remedy for the soul. And so we fight. Where do you wear your shoes for this kind of fight?

Lovely analogy, but I am not a Zen master ( nor do I wish to be one)

I am specifically talking about homeopathy. Homeopathy is something
that has discussions regularily about its definitions and methodology.
I think it is important that those boundaries be discussed.

That's fine - but you know what this reminds me of is Hering's
comment - "Everyone milks the homeopathic cow"-

I would say that instead of being what it should be - a medical
science - it is being an alternative umbrella for anything that is
esoteric, anti-allopathy, pro-spiritual. This is not like cutting a
cat- we do not even know if this is a cat or a dragon or a Japanese
Quail... we are becoming so amorphous as to lose our identity - and
at the same time we also claim to be scientific... are we a science,
a philosophy, a religion or a cult? That is why we need to define
who we are and what are our ways... and there is no harm in doing
that... it is not cutting a cat... it is putting up a marker to know
our house from the next one -

I would not agree with you on that, and I think that;s part of the
problem that actually thee is the idea that on the one hand
homeopathy is clearly defined yet on the other these furry boundaries
keep popping up. Homeopathy is not a spiritual discipline.
