Re: Death of the Shed! ;-) ? stupid question
Dear Joy
But Carbo veg (or even An) was alive once but not when it was made into a
remedy. You cannot treat a piece of charcoal or a piece of dead wood
homoeopathically, because one needs to stimulate a vital force (and vital
here mean life force) and piece of cut up and dried wood in whatever format
has no life force in it. It is now in form of wood for a host or organisms.
It is part of the recycling of nature.

But Soroush- I understood Joy meant the power of Carbo veg to revive
the almost dead...not that it was prepared from a live plant or

Re: Death of the Shed! ;-) ? stupid question
But then that is the power of homoeopathic remedies - so what is so special
about Carbo veg - just because it was a piece of a dead wood?
What about other plants?

Re: Death of the Shed! ;-) ? stupid question
You see, you are still not getting it are you? Apart from those who
suggested we treat the termites (which is wrong because we treat that
which has succumbed, not the named disease) the analogy presented was
perfectly Hahnemannian and no umbrella needed (except for the insults
raining down). When we give a homeopathic rx, i.e. the simillimum, the
'disease' is repelled, mainly because that which succumbed to it is now
able to resist it further - it has been matched, but also maybe because
the remedy has provoked something within the named disease, that which
aids its disappearance. We don't know for sure, we still don't have
enough science to tell us. But I don't see why further scientific and
homeopathic exploration shouldn't give us those answers and still be
called homeopathic.
Perhaps you can illustrate how the discussion went outside of
homeopathy, instead of just saying that it has because you misread it
or misunderstood it. You seem to be persisting with the erroneous
'treat the termite' scenario - why? You are accusative towards some of
us, saying we have digressed from our principles but you still haven't
said how and I for one contest that I haven't anyway. We also now seem
to have non-believers of miasmatic theory. I trust you will be
challenging that and say how it might mislead students and others on
this list as you claim this thread has.
So still waiting for you to say how what was discussed did not conform
to Hahnemann's homeopathy.
If, for example, Carbo veg was given to the shed analogy (in whatever
potency, dose you might choose) and the termites were expelled, what
say you then. We know the principles that would be in operation here,
including sx similarity, albeit minimal as you have with one sided
diseases, so why do you have such a problem defining it as being
homeopathic?
Putting aside analogies, termites and sheds, and coming back down to
earth where you prefer to be - you promote combo rx, so to what extent
is that following Hahnemannian methodology? To what extent is that
homeopathic? Where is the sx similarity there in any of the combo rx.
What does become a problem, for me anyway, is when you summarise what
some people have written that deviates from what they actually offered
- that is gutter press tactics and not to be trusted.
Come on answer a few questions instead of accusing - based on
misreading of texts presented. Joy

Re: Death of the Shed! ;-) ? stupid question
Oh really? So when an organ or part of an organ is threatened in a way
that it ceases to function as it once did it cannot be rejuvenated,
brought back to health? That's quite an indictment against homeopathy.
The Carbo veg was offered as an example not just because it is known as
the 'corpse reviver' but because 'disintegration' is the big keynote of
this rx as well as it being amazingly 'deoderant, disinfectant and
antiseptic'.
Do we know for sure when the vital force ceases to exist? It seemed to
me that lovely old shed had a lot of life in it, now abandoned by
humans

Michele - you have not abandoned the shed yet - have you? The lovely
shed with a lot of life is still being defended stoutly I would
say. Keep it up - homeopathically, allopathically,
enantiopathically and if nothing works out surgically.
There have been lots of suggestions and hope that something works.
I did not see anyone suggesting abandoning the shed -

Dear Joy
Exactly when the vital force of a plant is destroyed can be a debating
point.
The cutting of a plant does not mean it has died - if placed in the correct
environment it will send out roots and shoots and re-establish itself or
even part of it can be grafted on to another plant.
The LIFE of the shed is the time it stays up as a structure. It has no
vitality, it cannot send out roots or produce shoots. Unless carefully
maintained by humans, it will be consumed by various organisms as a dead
body - as happens naturally.
The vital force of the tree it came from died when it was cut up and had
preservative put on it etc.

Re: Death of the Shed! ;-) ? stupid question
Dear Soroush, As I said before then what you are saying is that there
is no 'afterlife' and I think that is contentious. It can only be your
opinion as to when the vital force 'dies' or stops displaying sx and
then it brings into question what a sx is, doesn't it?
And just a small point on plant life - I grow willows mainly for
fencing and decorative use and you will be surprised at how easily a
strip of willow will root when it has been cut from the parent plant,
abandoned and left in the dark for ages. Best wishes, Joy

Re: Death of the Shed! ;-) ? stupid question
I am yet to see my doors and windows sending out branches or may be
they are just waiting for me to put some manure...
We can listen to this "after life" philosophy as long as we do not
have to preserve our fore fathers (and fore mothers )after death and
spend our week ends throwing carbo veg 200 at their pickled bodies
to bring them back...
In this matter, whether it is a matter of treating the shed or the
termites we need not talk about after life. Shed is still around...
The only question is where is this leading to- are we saying we
should use homeopathy for wood preservation - everyone agrees plants
can be treated with homeo medicines- but if wooden shed, furniture,
our dining table, railroad ties etc. can be treated homeopathically
and stimulate their vital force- well I think we can endure it... at
least our pharmacies will thrive if this becomes popular... or may
be we can get homeopathic medicines in bulk from hardware stores...I
might have to visit HomeDepot and Lowes more often for my homeo
purchase - may be we can get homeo medicines made cheaper in China
if sale of homeo medicines increases... good possibilities
There is a time when we have to give up and decide "yes this is it".
When someone has a limb going to gangrene we can always sit around
and watch till the last moment to see if it can be saved, meanwhile
allowing the condition to spread... even if the patient dies - as
long as there is an afer life why worry...
Even in Homeopathy there are situations when an organ cannot be
saved. Most of the surgical conditions are like that...If the
patient takes homeopathy - yes the incidence might be less- but
still not for all cases...What do we do? Wait for the vital force to
somehow save it at the last moment because we should not lose an
organ and indict homeopathy? Or go for an elective surgery without
making it an emergecy one?
It is the same vital force that allows a replacement heart valve to
function- for the good of the whole organism...
