Dear Beverley (+ others who are interested), here are some comparative notes
on snakes that you are interested in. I don't know who originally compiled
this as what I have is a hand me down from a hand me down.....
Any part of the body can be affected by snake venom although we tend to
associate the susceptibility to the throat, tongue, heart, blood, nervous
system, eyes.

Snake people tend to be lively, articulate, loquacious, often highly sexual,
like attention,, love bright colours and music (snake charmers). They can be
driven to jealousy, suspicion, competitiveness. They can tell lies and be
manipulative.

On the other hand Naja for example can be like a Pulsatilla, appear quiet
and gentle - a snake lying in waiting?

There are war snakes and cold snakes:-

Cold = Naja, Elaps, Vipera, Bothrops

Warm = Lachesis, Hydrophis, Crot. H.

Snakes shed their skins so expect Sx of peeling flaking skin, hair loss,
skin discolouration, delusions about their body - only half alive,
irritation with clothing.

Snakes are held by the neck so expect Sx pathology around the neck and
throat and sensitivity to touch etc in these areas.

Snakes hypnotise their prey so you can get people who stare or don't blink
very much. They captivate you whilst telling their story.

Snake organs lie on one side only:-

Left = Lachesis, Hydrophis, Vipera

Right = Bothrops, Elaps, Cenchris, Naja, Crot. h, Crot. c,

Snakes move in wavelike movements so expect pulsating Sx

Baby snakes are not nursed - so extect Sx of being forsaken or abandoned.

Snakes have poor sensory perception of distant stimuli but are quick to
respond to short range stimuli - so you have confusion, absent mindedness,
weak memories, excitement, hysteria

Snakes are killed and persecuted either for their skins or because they are
feared = fear of being persecuted.
Naja

Nerves and respiratory - nervous, excitable, tremulous, irresolute,
constantly brooding over imaginary troubles, can become suicidal, fear of
being alone, fear of the rain. Very dutiful, they will even help someone who
has harmed them. Dream of feeling important. Excitement alternates with
restraint. Delusion being starved. Delusion head is injured, contradiction
of will, fear of failure. desire to be near fire. Constriction and pressure
in the throat, sensation of choking, dyspnoea, fluttering heart with
stitching pain and numbness. Dry teasing coughs. Valvular heart disease.
Sensation of a hot iron running through and a feeling of a great weight on
them. swollen glands and gangrenous states. Loss of power in the limbs and
in the voice. Suicide with an axe. serious, earnest, everything seems wrong.
Crotalus horridus

Sociable snake, may resemble Phos. Sympathetic, fear of thunder and
lightning, not aggressive. Easily moved to tears but can be angry at the
slightest thing - so rapid mood swings. Both compliant and dictatorial. Can
be timid, fearful, anxious and melancholy. Don't need company. Suspicious
and at odds with their own family. Snappy and irritable - may seem like Nux.
Vom. Loquacious but with rambling speech. Constant fear of death. Delusion
pursued by enemies. dreams they are half alive. Apathy and indifference,
forgetful. Malignancy and haemorrhages, no clots. Blood oozes. Prostration.
Dysentery, septic conditions with blueness. S.A.I. will burst inside. sudden
pains. Drowsiness. More tendency to weep than Lachesis and more mental
confusion. Likes alcohol and pork. Yellow sclera. Feel disconnected, weep
while reading, dullness alternating with excitement, ectasy.
Elaps

Loner snakes. Want to be in the country and love to travel. Averse to
company, will avoid all contact with people. But they also have an absolute
fear of being alone = fear that something will happen to them. Hears voices
- people talking to them which >>>. Fear of impending disease. Fear of rain,
snakes. Loss of memory and absent minded. Sensation as if in a dream -
spaced out, notice nothing, don't want to be interfered with. Delusion of
being beaten - an urge to strike out, hit and shriek especially if they feel
threatened. Septic conditions without high fever, black blood, black ear
wax. All discharges are black. S.A.I. uterus would burst. dream of dead
people. Bites hand during sleep.
Crotalus cascavellus

Persecution from spirits, ghosts and monsters. Feel they have been cursed
and will never get better - very hypochondriacal. Hear voices, clairvoyant,
trance like states. Pre-occupied with death. dream of corpses. wants to be
busy and with people. Jealousy. S.A.I. only partially in their own bodies.
Fear that someone is behind them. fear of suffocation and of being thrown
from a height. Many delusions:- eyes falling out, hears groans and
footsteps, black skeletons. Alternating sx. Rage leads to fainting.
Cenchris contortrix

Hibernates in the hot summer and is active in the spring. Absent minded and
forgetful. Lose themselves. Suddenness of symptoms. Dreamy. Forgets where
they are going. strong anxiety. Feel they will die suddenly. Stares into
space, doesn't listen. Rapid mood changes. strong sexual desire. Dreams of
rape and sex. Dream of drunken and naked people, robbers and indecent
conduct, dead people. anxiety felt in the heart. Suspicious of everyone.
restless, will walk the floor unable to sleep. Time passes slowly, dragging.
envious, hardness, easily slighted. anger in the evening and suspicious in
the afternoon/evening 3-8.
Bothrops lanceolatus

Blindness through the day, vision agg. by daylight. Confusions, forgets
words while speaking. Cannot articulate. One side paralysis. Dull, exhausted
and depressed. Fear that heart will stop. Bleeding, blood will not
coagulate, active haemorrhage, dark blood. Skin falls off in bits. Limbs
swell, blue blotches, putrid odour. Diagonal pains. Vertigo with falling.
Cold sweats. Heart pain consolation. Lack initiative. anxious,
clairvoyant. Loathing of life. Sadness. Neuromuscular diseases prominent.
Left vision lost, heavy eyelids cannot keep them open. Dry throat with
hoarseness. Thirst for cold drinks. >>> warmth in general. Bursting H/A.
Nightmares 2.30 to 4.30
Toxicophis

Oedema prominent. Periodicity - recur annually at exactly the same time for
a period of years with decreasing intensity each year.
