kalmia

Post by Joy Lucas »

Dear all, I have a particular interest in Kalmia and I note that it is
in the rubric 'Dreams of snakes' - does anyone have a reliable
reference for that. I know Kalmia has 'fantastic' dreams and also
dreams of killing. Kalmia has a fear of evil and a lot of anxiety
present but I was wondering whether this can be connected to the
dreaming of snakes. I would be grateful if anyone could shed some light
on this. Many thanks in advance, Joy

Joy

The reference in Radar Synthesis for Dreams, snakes, Kalmia is Knerr and Pierre Schmidt.
I presume that at least, the Schmidt ref. is a clinical based one. As I cannot find any proving info
on the Knerr inclusion, leads me to think maybe is a clinical.

In EH there is no mention that i can find for this rubric --- even in Herings, where it is
purportedly from.

Vermeulen lists it in his description of dreams for Kalmia --- but most likely taken from the
abovementioned incidences.

sorry cannot find the source more clearly

we are still well within the lines of Homoeopathy that is expansive, progressive, science fostered
and science fostering." (Dr. J. Compton Burnett)

Many thanks as usual Robyn.

On another note I especially like the quote at the end your post from
JCB - maybe this would suffice for Simon's quest regarding the
scientific nature of homeopathy?

Best wishes, Joy

LOL
I'm not on a quest for a scientific nature of homeopathy - boy have you
got that wrong!

I'm questioning those that claim it can be so labeled!

Well, we can also take plenty of pokes at the "scientific" nature of
allomeds, astronomy, study of gravity, etc., wouldn't you say?

My point is simply that IMO homeopathy is "scientific" to a similar
extent that most of "science" is, and therefore not inappropriate to
say that it is "scientific" even tho, as you point out, there are
flaws. It's also an "art"--but then so is any(?) branch of "science".

A definition from my good ol' dictionary: " ... 2. systematized
knowledge derived from observation, study, and experimentation carried
on in order to determine the nature or principles of what is being
studied." (E.g., a remedy?) Why do you object to it being called
"scientific"?

As My friend John points out in te rference I provided previoulsy most
understanding of science is newtonian, which he argues is not
sufficient for homeopathy's explanation, whereas, 'quantum' science is.

When Chris says homeopaty is scientific I wonder where her definition
of sience falls?

I do not think it can be accurately defined or measured by newtonian
science, and its a mistake to say it can, that's all I'm saying,

Joy,

Kalmia is, like Ledum, of the Ericaceae family. I believe both are used as
deer browse. Will Taylor did a piece on these remedies for Whole Health Now
some years ago, and as I recall he speculated that deer may self-medicate by
feeding on these, as both are useful in treating Lyme disease. Deer, of
course, are a prominent vector for that disease. (I could have benefitted
from Kalmia myself years ago when I had Lyme!)

So perhaps dreams of snakes are reflective of the animal consciousness that
visits Kalmia. And the specific snake, of course, would be the timber
rattlesnake ;-))

Peace,
Cinnabar

Thank you so much Cinnabar, this makes a lot of sense. Kalmia has quite
a lot of fear in its sx picture and I was wondering if it would be
acceptable to view this fear of snakes as a basis for a state of
chronic fear. Any ideas would be welcome. Best wishes, Joy
