Homeopathy killed my wife - update

I thought that you might like to know that two letters have apparently
been published in the Daily Mail in response to this article. I would
appear that all was not what it appeared to be. The shame is that the
article was published in the first place, but at least two of the
people who knew the woman who died have put the record straight.

No 1 - headed
"An Inspiration.
I was a friend of the de Vaatt family whose mother, Julia, was
supposedly "killed by
homeopathy" and can see the matter from her point of view.
She was fully focused on getting better, and whatever the rights and
wrongs of
her approach, she lasted a phenomenal ten years -- surely a success
story. She taught us all how to live with cancer and with real
hardship: she rose above it all with bravery and dignity. She was
surrounded by many loving people - her husband Bob not among them --
and derived a lot of comfort from all the therapies mentioned.

It's unfortunate that Bob saw her as a victim, exploited by others.
All those who loved her will remember her as a truly inspiring woman.

No 2 - headed "....and no victim
Bob de Vaatt believes his wife was fleeced of her money by
unscrupulous practitioners --- but he has proved to be the biggest
exploiter of the lot, using her illness to promote his book and her
memory to make a better story.

What sort of poor, weak victim stands up as she did to violence and
threats from her GP? I was the person who -- apparently -- convinced
her that homeopathy cured everything, as well as 'forcing' her to
refuse orthodox medical treatment.
Neither of these allegations is true.
As for the practitioners, I know some of them were treating her free
of charge - and many of the therapies did give her some relief.

And the £12,000 credit card bill? Very few practitioners have credit
card facilities.
What does Bob think his family lived on after he abandoned them?
