I searched a few sources to demonstrate the different meanings:

Von Boenninghausen:
Mezereum:
German: Jücken (Mucken, Fippern, Glucksen) in muskulösen Theilen.
English: Itching (...., syn. short twitching, throbbing) in muscular
parts

Bar-c:
German: Beim Liegen auf dem rechten Ohre, Glucksen vom linken zum
rechten Ohre durch.
English: When lying on the right ear, throbbing/pulsating from the left
to the right ear
----
Mag-p-arct
German: Glucksen im Unterleibe, wie von Blähungen.
English: Gurgling in the lower abdomen, as from flatulence

Sulph
German: Blutdrang und Hitze im Kopfe, mit glucksend klopfendem
Kopfschmerz.
English: congestion and heat in head, with pulsating throbbing headache

Jahr:
Berberis
German: Glucksen in den Muskeln, auch mit Gefühl als wäre Lebendiges
darin
English: Pulsating/throbbing/twitching in the muscles, also with
sensation as if live things were in it

In Jahr, you'll find more hints to 'Glucksen' in Berb than in most other
remedies.

Clotar Müller, the son of Dr. Moritz Müller, wrote in 1854:
Glucksen - see Klopfen (throbbing)

Consequences of wrong translations:
Kent rubric:
Gurgling in testes while sitting - Valer.

This in the original German proving text (taken from Gypser's
'Gesammelte Arzneimittelprüfungen from Stapf's Archiv'):
German: Im Sitzen, ein spannend glucksender Schmerz im rechten Hoden
(den 2. T. Ab. 5 U.)
English: While sitting, a tensive throbbing pain in the right testes
(the 2nd day, evening 5 p.m.)

So, I can summarize:

- when we have a cavity (ear, abdomen): Glucksen will most often mean a
gurgling/glugging sound or feeling, but of course could be a throbbing
as well
- in the extremities/testes it can be a pulsating/throbbing feeling
(pain), like the one you have when a splinter is in your finger, and pus
develops, and then the throbbing sets in...
- in the extremities it can also be a sort of short rhythmical twitching

Dear Chris,

Please see my other post to Joy/Lynn for further explanation.
Of course the best one is the "Deutsches Wörterbuch von Jacob und
Wilhelm Grimm". It was started to be written in 1838, the first volume
was published in 1854.
All the German words were in it that were used from 1450 onwards.
So in these books (there was also a digital version available) all
German expressions used in the years from 1450 to 2000 are explained.
As for the noise from a fluid: Gluckern is similar to Glucksen.

But Gluckern/Glucken has also many other meanings. It definitely DOESN'T
have the pulsating/throbbing meaning of Glucksen.

Oh - I'm still in my homoeopathic teens....

In 1810 Hahnemann was 55 when he published the first edition of his
Organon.

So that gives me another 5+ years to work on something or other...
