Hi,
I recently saw a patient who had knee problems in her early twenties, so they took out her tonsils...yes, it sounded strange to me too. She said the diagnosis was Schlatter'sche disease. Anyone out there know what that is?

Sounds like Osgood-Schlatter's disease which is an inflammation of the bony
protrusion below the knee (tibial tuberosity)
Cannot find a connection to the tonsillectomy

This could be a situation where a primary infection begins in the
throat, such as a strep throat or recurrent tonsilitis and passes off
as an acute disease but then goes on to settle in the bones. A bit like
rheumatic fever settles in the heart. Many acute illness leave their
signature in this way and when we take a case history indications like
this come up and can be vary valuable in assessing the case and can
