I have a case that has very strong repertory case for Ruta as a
'constitutional remedy'. Tick sin all the right boxes you might say.
Can anyone tell me what a 'Ruta person' is supposed to look like
and what their core issue is? I can work something out by
studying the repertory but am more interested in clinical
experience if anyone has any. Ruta is one of those remedies I
dont have good handle on. There are lots like that for me. I only
'got' Mezereum 6 months ago after 21 years of busy practice.
Thanks a lot

Re: another materia medica question
Ruta was done once in Links.
The patient had to check that everything was done properly. The example
given was having trust to have car repaired. That is what I remember.
A great remedy for injuries involving periostium. I have often used it
for this alone. I have never used it for the Links suggested state,

*****here is some info on the Ruataceae family from Sankaran ---
RUTACEAE
Go to...
Study of Ruta, gives following result -
THIGH :SQUEEZED SENSATION, NIGHT [ALLEN R]
Pain :squeezing, external. [Zandvoort]
At night pain in both the thighs, as though the parts were violently
grasped and squeezed by the hands. [Allen's]
PAIN :TWISTING: UMBILICUS, RELIGION OF : NIGHT"
Meaning of squeezing, in American heritage dictionary is "To press hard on
or together, compress….” “To exert pressure on as by way of extracting
liquid…""To extract by or as if by applying pressure". So main feeling is
squeezing and twisting as if extracting liquid. Similar theme found in
other members of Rutaceae (Angustura, Ptelea, Xanthoxylum etc.)
Ruta is a well-known drug for sprains and dislocation. After squeezed and
twisted , what happens in dislocation and sprain if you do it one-step more
then bone is broken. Therefore we can see that broken sensation is also
very common in this family. (Ruta, Angostura)
For e.g. Ruta has, Pain: Broken, breaking, as if: bones [Zandvoort]
Thus the vital sensation of Rutaceae is the feeling of being squeezed
twisted and then broken
Lemon belongs to the same family and hence helps to understand the vital
sensitivity of Rutaceae.
Sensation:
"The feeling of being squeezed and then broken"
MIASM REMEDIES
Typhoid
Ailanthus
Malaria
Angustura
Ringworm
Aegle
Sycosis
Ptelea
Cancer
Ruta
Syphilis
