Binge drinking

Possibly Thuja .
Has anyone experience in treatment of alcoholism.
Another habitual alcoholic whose words were "being the bloke do not
want to be-----I know the bloke I want to be" I believe he may be
Thuja too.
I have not had much success in past with addiction. Thank you Jean

The psoric would probably drink alone to fulfil a need; the sycotic
will binge drink and boast about it; the syphilitic will drink to
destruction. You would think that Thuja might fit in here but
alcoholism isn't a state that I have associated with this rx, others
might observe differently.

What is interesting about the second comment is a situation that I
definitely would associate with Thuja - that of being split and almost
living 2 lives, one observing the other (delusion someone strange at

Pure speculation on my part, still ....might the psoric drink alone, but not reach
alcholism because he would be worried about the cost ...

- the sycotic might binge drink and boast (also the adventurous tubercular?), but
also might be the owner of a secret stash perhaps ?

- so perhaps the syphilitic is more likely to be the serious alcoholic, but used as a
deliberate act of destruction of himself and all around, instead of the 'numbing out'
device usually employed ?

With regard to Thuja and alcoholism? Well there are 240 remedies listed under
that rubric in RefWorks, including Thuja --- so I guess it comes down to what the
cause is (and it can be inherited disposition alone ... I have such a case).

So is Jean's case a 'binge drinker' or a full-on alcoholic ??? Not clear. Sorry Jean!

I remember a discussion at one of Sheilagh Creasy master classes and she
said you need to see the person when they are drunk. Then you can observe
all their true symptoms. Repertorising them should lead you to the remedy.

As I understood it the emphasis was on "binge", otherwise it would be
just 'drinking' or being drunk, not quite the same thing as you could
observe 'anyone' under the influence and get a whole lot of unreliable

I have treated alcoholism both with Homeopathy and Hypnosis.
A friend of mine had excellent results with homeopathy - he was
almost a specialist...

Guidelines given in Gallavardin's work on alcoholism are excellent
pointers. The same case with Knerr's repertory indications. Knerr's
repertory also indicates the physical complaints and complications
of alcoholics and you find indications there as well...

Symptoms before, during and after an episode and inter episodal
symptoms are all important... ( Read about Nux vomica in
Gallavardin) -why the patient started drinking is also important...
Like Pulsatilla starting drinking for a tonic effect...It will be
better if you can see the patient ... but most of the time at least
initially people ( in India at least) need to be treated without
their even knowing that they are being treated and still it is
effective... you do not have to see the patient while they are drunk-
this is not a must... you can gather symptoms from the family and
care givers...

You need to combine this with behavioral treatment to get better
results... avoiding provocative instances, environment change etc.

I have seen people responding well to acupuncture treatment as well.
A friend of mine had treated more than 50 alcohol in a year with
acupuncture and got an award for that...

I have had only 2 cases of alcoholism both of which I dealt with
using the constitutional remedy which stood out clearly together
with Quercus and Avena Sativa herbal tinctures mixed to help with
the craving and withdrawal symptoms together with EFT (See
www.emofree.com). One I know is now leading a successful life free
of alcohol (This was Carc which went to a Syphilinum state both in
10M) and the other one appeared to be doing well but decided to go
it alone with a supportive partner after seeing me only a few times
so am not sure what the outcome was. I did a lot of research into
alcoholism + Rx at the time and the consensus of opinion was
prescribe high and frequently.

Recently I have had a binge (every night) drinker who came back to
me after the first consultation to say that she was not drinking in
the evening anymore. Her problem if I remember was boredom. I can't
remember what Rx I gave her now and since I am abroad I don't have
access to my case notes. I know that I used EFT here and taught her
how to use it.

Especially by homeopathy, but other means as well?
