Dreams of Monkeys.

Dear friends,
I have a patient, whose peculiar symptom is dreams of monkeys.
But I am unable to find this rubric in any of the repertory (Kent, Boger, Boenningheusen, Clark, Hering, Allen's , Phatak etc.)
Though I considered seeing allied rubrics like dreams of animals etc.
But if anyone amongst you know or suggest anything regarding this rubric, please do a favour by telling me.

I feel that dreams that people have need to be interpreted and expounded
upon by the 'dreamer' with the therapist as witness, before being able to
truly repertorise them. That does not mean that the dreams in the reps are
not able to be included in repping, but I don't think just having a dream
about monkeys would be enough, even it if was in the rep.

Each person will have a different story to tell when you ask "Tell me about
Monkeys?" and it is this story which will give you the clues as to what is
the meaning of the dream to this person. Eg., one person may say that they
hate monkeys and why, and another may say they adore them etc. etc....

What the monkey means/represents to the individual is the key to the rubric
you could choose.

This is only one aspect of dreams --- there are archtypal meanings that
could also be considered and some other aspects.

Hi,

What's important is to find out what the relationship of the monkey is to the patients dreams, eg, is the monkey chasing the patient, etc.

It's important to see the dynamics in the dream to find a good rubric. It's not enough info to just accept the patients telling of a dream of monkey(s). You need to probe deeper if you feel this info is important in the case.

You could also take the angle of asking him/her about the feeling and
emotional content of those dreams, and their meaning (if any) to
him/her?

You could make a life time career out of deciphering dreams and you
might want to take a look at Farokh Master's book "Homeopathy and
Dreams" (not sure if that's the correct title). He writes, very
briefly, "the monkey is a naughty, clever trickster, and could easily
signify childish behaviour".

I am sure he made a further reference to dreams of monkeys in his
"Lacs" book but I can't find it.

I have an interesting Asarum case which i will be posting soon - the
dreams of which brought me to the remedy in a round about way so you
might want to look elsewhere in your case for sx that might associate
with dreaming of monkeys.

Why not find out a little more from the patient about the significance of the monkeys and the feelings they evoke? You may then have a different, deeper aspect of the dreams to work with. Rosemary

Dear Sir,
Thanks for responding.
I already inquired about the question regarding monkeys, but he told me nothing significant.
In his words "No, Doctor, my favourite animal is dog, neither I get scare of monkeys, nor I hate monkeys, but still I get dreams so frequently." Even there is no past history related with monkeys (any accident/trauma caused by monkeys).
So, what to do, ignore this peculiar symptom in terms of selecting his constitutional remedy or consider allied rubrics?
