Magnets and homeopathy

Post by Jean Doherty »

Recently I prescribed Baryta Sulph 30c for a 8 year old. He was in a
very dependent clinging, fearful ,fragile state.
The state seemed to resolve quite quickly and he actually left his Mum
and went to read and play lying on his bed where a magnetic blanket had
recently been installed.
After about an hour the tears and clinging recurred..
I was pretty sure that this time in this child the remedy was right and
advised removal of the blanket and to stay with the remedy as needed.
A repeat dose kicked in again and effect was maintained. Regards, Jean

Surely the MM on magnets demonstrates their potential for harm?

I see very often magnets applied totally indiscriminately, so no wonder
they can do harm and neutralize homeopathic or other treatments.
Location, polarity, intensity (Gauss), timing, repetition are to be taken
into consideration, but what happens is a series of magnets slapped on a
painful spot or even worse sleeping on a magnetic mattress.......
The same goes for the often repeated discussion about acupuncture during
homeopathy; both treatments are energetic and ideally should be going in the
same direction and be synergistic, yet when I see acupuncture treatments
done on some of my patients before I take them on, it appears the whole
prescription of points is wrong and often made from cookbook recipes of this
series of points for that problem.
Never mind the discussion whether 2 or 3 different types of treatment should
or could be done at the same time, but if this is what happens, then they
should all be done by practitioners who:
1. understand in depth what they are doing
2. have an understanding of what the other therapies are doing and so can
aim in the same direction..........not one palliating painful symptoms while
the other tries to bring them to the surface to eliminate them......
When those conditions are fulfilled, in my experience, you see an
acceleration of the healing process.

Hi Simon,
I think its a lot like other "forces" in our environment. It's always there anyway. If you up jack up the amount, you will have susceptible individuals. It is a stimulant.
I remember when I was writing a dissertation I laid on one and was pasted to it. Could not get up for several days except by the force of schedule. After I had paid my sleep debt, that stopped and they didn't affect me much. I kept sleeping on them, used them while using the homeopathy ten years later and the homeopathy was effective. If I had started them at the same time I started the homeopathy, certainly there would have been a conflict because both were very effective.
Blessings,
Ellen

Any reason why the magnetic blanket was installed?
How many people tend to use things like this (for children)?
thanks!

Dr J, Interesting observation on the effect of conflicting goals in different therapies when applied to the same patient at the same time. Very few practitioners of any kind, unfortunately, work otherwise than by "cookbook" formulas: X "disease" requires "Y" treatment.

Many folk think if one alternate method good all are. His wife very
interested in Homeopathy and I think he thought he was supporting her
by buying blankets in a sale for all family. He sometimes needs
Sulphur,.
I had searched a long time for a remedy for this pathologically needy
, insecure child and was unwilling to give up on this remedy, Jean
