plantar fasciitis
has anyone dealt with plantar fasciitis--homeopathically or otherwise?
person seems to have pulled this tissue in a work related situation. the
pain
began slowly but has gotten persistently worse.
pain severe on standing in morning;
pain eases after walking several minutes
pain in deep, severe, aching, bruised and tearing at times
pain worse after sitting
pain wakes person at night
attempts to stretch heel area to relieve pain
no concommittants
no food changes
no notable mentals other than frustration
pain creates fatigue--not unusual for this type of condition
nothing showing up strongly with radar or eh.
phyto the only rx specifically mentioned for plantar fasciitis
but little information given.
any help appreciated

Re: plantar fasciitis
Dear Tanya, I would probably opt for studying rx that have an affinity
to fibrous tissue as much as the specific dx. The 3 most striking sx
you mention are the 'pain eases after walking several minutes' and the
type of pain = tearing, and also the pain waking the person at night
which suggests that although you would think the rest should >> it
actually > in this rx).
But are there any other modalities such as reaction to temperatures or
change of weather and what might >>> the pain such as rubbing or ??
Hope useful, best wishes, Joy

rhus tox doesnt seem to work, generally, with this person.
i think a similar rx that is more potent may be in order

Re: plantar fasciitis
Very easy to treat
Have treated 4 cases with 100% improvement after 6 weeks.
One of the remedies used was Ammonium Mur. The other was Ammonium Carb.

Re: plantar fasciitis
Dear Tanya, In Asa Hershoff's book Homeopathy for Musculoskeletal Healing
1996 Nth Atlanic Books, ISBN 1-55643-237-2, Ruta Grav is listed for Plantar
facitis he also suggests looking at his list of remedies pertaining to the
sole of the foot Page 282 Agar2, Ars alb2, Berb3, Bry2, CALC CARC, CAUST,
Cimic3, Gels2, Guaiacum3, Kali carb3, LEDUM, Lyc3, Nat sulph2, Phos3, PULS,
Ruta3, Sil3, SULPH, Thuja3.
Personally for myself - after reading through this book I actually took a
mix of Ruta and Rhustox as neither did it by itself fully. I feel that the
Ruta worked on the fibrous tissue and the Rhustox helped with the
inflammation in the surrounding tissues but all in all much improved.
Hope this is of use to you Pauline

Re: plantar fasciitis
Tanya after taking the remedies separately and then 1/2 hour apart - due to
being so busy I ended up making up a Rhus/Ruta 30 mix and took it about QID
for first week then ORS (on return of symptoms) after that ( probably TDS
for a few days then BD then OD and now if I feel an aggravation of it
starting (usually only after heavy exertion or walkin for a long time or the
weather is wet and/or cold) I take it BD until it settles. Usually only a
day or two at the most now. I am a Nit ac constitution so of course follow
up with a dose of Nit ac every now and then. I also have a past history of
Rheumatic Fever so Rhustox is a much loved remedy for me in cold damp
weather for aches and pains and inflammation in the joints if I push myself
too hard. I also think that I took a single dose of Medorrhinum around the
time that I started the Rhus/Ruta mix. I was showing a few key notes and
often find that if I am having musculoskeletal probs that a dose of Med
seems to help the other remedies work more efficiently.
Hope that this helps Regards Pauline

Re: plantar fasciitis
My most remarkable case of this condition was a Lachesis one.
Strange because its not in the pian in the sole of the foot rubric.
She went from intense suffering for weeks to complete
disappearance of symptoms overnoght.
