Hi-Low prescribing (was Special posology recommendation please

Post by Jeremy Crowley »

I often use the Vannier method or a variation, and find it works well. I
will do a muscle test on two or three remedies, maybe one based on Aetiology,
one on lesional symptoms, one on constitution or perhaps a Miasmatic remedy, and
find one that works well in High potency, one in low. In this case I will
give a single dose or infrequent repetition of the one that tests best high,
and a more frequent rep of the one that tests low. ( maybe puls 1Msingle dose,
Carc 12 daily, not always the way theories would suggest)
Roger Morrison reccomends High followed by repeated low potencies in his
'Desktop Companion to Physical Pathology' (on nearly every page!) but personaly
I have not found it useful.
I often repeat dry remedies, sometimes in High potencies and since using
muscle testing to determine potencies I have only had one slightly bad reaction
(lady went into an arg nit state after1 or 2 days on Ars 6c and continued the
remedy for 3 more days) which makes me suspect that it is normally
repetition of the wrong potency that causes problems rather than repetition per se. (I
have heard of people using muscle tests to determine frequency, but not sure
how. anyone do this? you can contact me off list if you are afraid of being
told it's not in the organon ;-) )
In my earlier days I tried LM's but found it took about an hour to explain
to some patients who asked loads of questions (how hard to succuss, how do I
know how to change how many times or when to stop etc.) then still got it
wrong. (Maybe I should give more Baryta carb :)
Having read some recent posts I think I may try LM's again (thanks David).
Patients often need a higher potency when they return, so logically going up in
smooth steps rather than in jumps should be better. If it really is a
superior method, then sucussing too few times should be better than not succussing
at all.

The Vannier system is the system that you refer to. The Vannier system is a
system I use when treating conditions that I analyze to be caused by
Functional and Lesional damage. In the situation of damage from a drug
picture [as in my Fertility cases from the prolonged effects of the Oral
Contraceptive Pill] it is particularly applicable. Below is a brief
description of how it works. In my Fertility program I have changed and
adapted the system, but below is the system as outlined by Vannier. Drainage
in Homoeopathy by Maury is also a good reference for drainage practice and
remedies.

The Vannier system consists of 4 remedies that must all be compatible; and
are perceived to work together as one whole.

Hi Jeremy,
I'm not afraid, LOL!
One way to muscle test for repetition is simply to put it as a
question--state which you want to mean "yes" (weak or strong), and that
the other one should mean "no". Then ask, "Should he take this one or
more times per week?" (get your "yes" or "no", and narrow down
accordingly... It can get a little confusing to move between testing
reflexes and asking questions, but not too bad.

But--I haven't seen any reason to do this in a very long time, since it
seems more straightforward and reliable to just follow their responses
to each dose.
