Vital Force perceived by Oriental Medicine

Post by isali ben-jacob »

We say that the 'mind' stimulates the 'chi' (the vital force), and the
'chi' once stimulated promotes movement in the 'body' for better or for
worse. We refer to this as the three treasures. We say as well that
there exists external relations with the 'Heavens and the Earth' and as
you affect either so are you affected via the vital force.

As a physician I apply these two principles in all cases by viewing the
signs and symptoms and attempt to discern the status of the 'chi', the
vital force, which is allowing for the clinical picture presented and
attempt to ascertain both the external elements and the mental construct
which is causative to the status of the vital force that is allowing for
the clinical reflection.
