Re: Solar plexus remedies

Post by HomeoDidact »

Hi,

A person with chronic fatigue syndrome complains of feeling weakness or a "hole" in his Solar plexus.

This sensation appears mainly in the morning when he is doing some (very moderate) excercise.

In Radar rep I found only one rubric that describes this sensation and it is with one remedy only:

Solar plexus - hole = Gardenia jasminoide.

Are there any other rubrics or rx rhat apply here ?

TIA

Rafy

There's "Chest emptiness sensation of during exertion", one remedy, in caps: STANN.

The more general version of this rubric, without the exertion, is:

CHEST - EMPTINESS, sensation of

all-s. aspar. bov. Calad. carb-an. chin. chr-ac. coc-c. Cocc. crot-t. ferr-ma. gels. graph. Guare. ictod. Ign. Kali-c. kali-sil. med. nat-p. nat-s. olnd. ph-ac. phos. phyt. plat. rhus-t. sars. Sep. STANN. sulph. vinc. zinc.

Hi Simon,
I am curious. Can you use the rate from any remedy machine? Are they all calibrated with the same numbers for the same remedies?
Thanks,
Ellen

China has sensation of a cavity in the spleen area, Tonga an oblong
hole in the abdomen, agaricus has a sense of hollowness in the abdomen.
I am sure there are others.

The solar plexus is a mass of nerves and the sx given of weakness
during exertion are not uncommon in CFS, although the feeling there is
a hole would be considered SRP. Probably worth exploring further. Hope
useful. Best wishes, Joy

It's quiet, everyone's on holiday and I look forward to someone posting
the MM as well but here is a snippet that has more to do with herbal
application. Interesting that Influenza is mentioned in connection to
the jasminoides variety of gardenia - it being related to post viral
syndrome and/or chronic fatigue syndrome.

Gardenias are widely used as exotic ornamental flowers in corsages, as
houseplants, and in some regions, as outdoor plants. A yellow silk dye
has been made for centuries from the chemical compound acrocetin
extracted from the gardenia berry.

Chinese herbal medicine, however, makes the most extensive use of the
gardenia. Its Chinese name is zhi zi. The traditional medicinal actions
attributed to gardenia include calming irritability; cooling blood and
clearing away heat (a yin/yang imbalance often characterized by
deficient yin); reducing swelling; and moving stagnant blood that has
congealed in one place, usually following trauma. Gardenia is
considered to be very effective as a hemostatic agent, which means that
it stops bleeding; and also effective in treating injuries to the
muscles, joints, and tendons. Gardenia is commonly used in Chinese
herbal formulas to treat infections, particularly bladder infections;
abscesses; jaundice; and blood in the urine, sputum, or stool. Because
of its perceived ability to ease agitation or irritability, it is also
used in formulas to treat anxiety or insomnia. It is also helpful in
correcting menopausal imbalances reflected in insomnia and depression,
nervous tension, headache, and dizziness.

The United States Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research
Service phytochemical and ethnobotanical database lists the following
species of gardenia as having specific medicinal properties:
digestive problems, including dyspepsia and diarrhea; or used as an
astringent and expectorant for nervous conditions and spasms.
constipation.
kill both bacteria and insects.
smallpox.
the treatment of pain, nose bleeds, fever, and influenza; in healing
wounds and reducing swelling; and in treating mastitis, hepatitis and
the hematuria that accompanies bladder infection.
treatment of headaches, fever, delirium, mastitis, and jaundice related
to liver problems.
and scalds; in reducing swelling; as a treatment for fever and
influenza; in treating jaundice associated with liver problems; and in
stopping bleeding.
treating the bites of certain snakes.

Best wishes, Joy

Solar plexus remedies

Post by d_barbara_hamilton »

Just to add a little more info to this meditative remedy. Natrum Marinum -

ABD: Bloated worse menses as from water retention. Constipation with dry
stools. Sensation as if there were a hole in the Solar Plexus which feels connected
to strong emotions. Old malarial cases.

GEN: Dryness and dehydration are marked: water balances are out esp. during
life changes such as pregnancy and the menopause (in men as well as women!):
kidneys and lungs affected. Drainage and support remedy for the kidneys. Due to
poor irrigation in the system there is poor conductivity in the nervous tissue: the
special senses are affected. Fluid imbalances also lead to poor elimination with
resultant toxicity which has an inevitable connection with cancerous states: poor
tissue regeneration. Hypersensitivity of the nerves.
Tingling and pins and needles: numbness. Carpal tunnel syndrome: feeling
shaky and trembly. Endocrine glands: Thyroid problems (Thyrotoxicosis): Pituitary
malfunction esp. at the menopause.
Rebalances the chemistry of the body. Allergies and Hay fever.
Discharges which itch and burn: soreness of skin and membranes at the
orifices. Very strong link with radiation miasm which is characterised by tiredness
and lethargy: tissue changes esp. on the skin (skin cancers, changes in warts,
moles and birth marks): changeability of symptoms. One significant difference
from Nat-m is how easily the patient is 'knocked off balance by insignificant
events': easily upset by trifles. This is mostly apparent in the emotional sphere but
is also manifest physically as well. Skin conditions which stubbornly refuse to heal
esp. eczema: the patient seems almost wilfully to hold on to the condition - as if it
were a mask for them to hide behind.
They also tend, at least in the young and old patients, to run out of energy more
readily than Nat-m even though both remedies have the well known stoicism:
nevertheless there is greater resolve and determination (not to say hardness)
during the middle years. Very difficult to get a sense of seeing the 'whole canvas'
of the patient's picture - which is another feature of the radiation miasm as well as
being a typical symptom of salt. Can also be used as an acute remedy in colds and
'flus. As is expected, there is much albuminous mucous: sneezing: itching and
burning. Herpetic eruptions: simplex and Zoster.
Arthritis: nodosities on small joints: ankles and feet, knees and hips affected.
Affected by the Moon's phases: aware of the change of biorhythms in the body.
Strong need to be near the sea or water.
Reactions to the Sun's rays: sunburn, blistering: skin dries out.

It looks v. like Nat.mur., and Aqua Marina, so if that helps differentiate ?

regards, Barbara
