Hi, I was hoping someone could answer a question for a mother on one of my other groups. She is wanting to get her son who is only three years old off the medication and isn't being supported by either his pediatrician, DAN! doctor or school. He is an autistic child. I haven't been able to find out why the child was even given the drug in the first place but the mother feels the child has made gains since going on natural supplements and no longer needs the meds. I wasn't sure which direction to send her. Is this something a homeopath can help her with. I very much appologize if this question seems silly. I read a lot of your posts and can't imagine dealing with the complex issues you deal with. I am not asking for remedies. I know enough to know that those are prescribed on an individual basis and not for a catch all diagnosis. She has had a lot of difficulty in trying this herself. His behavior gets very much out of hand at any lowering of the dosage.

Hi everyone. I just got a message back from the mother and they live in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area of Minnesota. Just north of there actually. She is very open to homeopathy (yeah!) and would like help with a referral if possible. If anyone has any suggestions I would very much appreciate any help. I will send her some websites to look at and I did tell her about the book by Amy Lansky, Impossible Cure.

Dr. Peter Breggin, who has written extensively about over-drugging of kids,
has a website, I believe. (Do a Google search on his name and see what you
come up with.) He may be able to help the parents find a psychiatrist who
would be more amenable to working with them to get the child off Zoloft.
They definitely need a sympathetic MD in their corner.

Thank you Cinnabar, I will do a search and pass that along. I have been talking with her and she is excited about getting help and getting her son off Zoloft. It is nice to hear of a Doctor that will speak out against the masses. I am curious to see what he writes.
