rescue remedy and constitutional rx

Post by Chana Satya Levine »

Dear minutus folks,

I am a patient, and student (Devon School), of Homeopathy. I have heard
conflicting information about taking rescue remedy while on a
constitutional rx. Is there a party line? Or, is this one of the issues
that remains grey and everyone handles differently? I imagine it could
make a difference if the patient is repeating their rx regularly, or
only
taking it once. If there would be interference, would this be due to
r.r. also being homeopathic in its own way, or to the fact that it is
potentized, or to it addressing a narrow slice of the patients total
symptoms (even though it is used for acute situations)? I hope my
question is clear.

TIA,
Satya

Bach Flower remedies are not usually potentised, they are merely diluted. However, they are very potent, so this is the reason for not administering Rescue Remedy repeatedly during homeopathic constitutional prescribing. It is "rescue" remedy - so why does the patient continue to need to be "rescued" repeatedly? This is where the constitutional remedy should be allowed the freedom to act to its' fullest extent. The odd dose of Rescue Remedy is probably neither here nor there, as acute situations do arise from time to time - it is the repeated dosing that is most problematic.
