Dear All,
Does anyone out there have any advice - homeopathic or otherwise- for
elephantiasis.
Have a look at Myristica; Silicea (possibly best choice with the smelly feet
sx as well); Arsenicum; Hydrocotyle; Anacardium (especially with wart on
hand); Elaeis (another good choice); there are others as well that could be
studied.
Best wishes, Joy

This is practically a "single symptom" case.
All typical signs of disease, swollen right leg, rough hard cracked scaly
skin, discolouration, etc.
A few other features of the patient:
-one horny large rough wart on the left hand
-smelly foot sweat from the feet
No other symptoms, at this time, could be extracted from the patient,
neither mental nor physical.
Sincerely,
Didi Ananda Ruchira

Re: Elephantiasis
Hydrocotyle in India, is specific for Elephantiasis.
PAucity of mental symtpoms usually indicates the NAtrum Group of
remedies ... then they later open up with more symptoms

Re: Elephantiasis
Dear didi,
T S Iyer, one of the legends of Homeopathy in South India, and author
of one of the most lucid primers of Homeopathy, (BEGINNERS GUIDE TO
HOMEOPATHY) says, elephantiasis is psora + syphilis and has advocated
the use of merc.sulph . He says he has had much success with with
that. The potencies he used were upto mm.
Hydrocotyle asiatica, is another.
Phatak has cured a case with Ant c on the basis of a modality ,
changing sides and morning agg ( filarial worm usually are nocturnal).
But my suggestion would be to go with the patient aspect and if
nothing comes up of value then the disease be studied.
The usual symptoms of filariasis are
1. swollen extremeities/ scrotum/mammae
2. chill with fever - recurrent
3. Dorsum of feet affected first
4. usually the swelling is unilateral. rarely both legs are affected.
5. nocturnal severity
If you find symptoms outside of these IN THE DISEASE PICTURE then
study that carefully.
Regards
Venkat
