Hi Elizabeth,

from what you say about the dog's nature (I don't like the word bitch,
especially when it come to Pulsatilla in female dogs), the first thought
that crossed my mind is Pulsatilla (listless today, yielding, sensitive,
obedient. Sits quietly and waits to be told what to do. Loves playing
with a ball though and has lots of energy.)

Kent Lectures on MM, Puilsatilla: "Many troubles seem to manifest
themselves in the abdomen by bloating, distension of the abdomen,
flatulence, colicky pains, rumbling, fermentation of food", "involuntary
urination when coughing and sneezing,... Pulsatilla has dribbling of
urine, dribbles on the slightest provocation. She must keep her mind
continually on it, or she will lose her urine."

As Boericke says about Pulsatilla: "It is pre-eminently a female remedy,
especially for mild, gentle, yielding disposition."

But maybe you check out what I quote from Ravi Roy: "Homoeopathischer
Ratgeber Mensch und Tier vol. 1 Konstitutionstypen der Hunde und
Katzen", p. 44 (translation from German):
Pulsatilla is one of the eminent remedies to treat incontinence and
tenesmus in dogs and cats.

The main characteristics of that constitutional in dogs and cats is
likes being stroked, likes being cuddled,
seek the company of their holders,
attached to their holders,
(And I would like to add: patient, good-natured)
vivid fullblooded temperament, but measured,
when excited or in danger they show a tremendous potential,
(esp. when kids or their own issue are in danger, I would like to add)
lovingly care for their cubs,
a bit plump, even so they don't eat too much,
don't have much thirst, drink in small portions,
love to be outside,
everything better outside,
don't care much about the other gender,
sometimes even afraid of the other gender,
therefore sometimes not easy to breed,
(here an example from my own experience: I saw a Pulsatilla pussycat
beating up one tomcat after the other before she met the right one
finally and stuck to him; it was only him who was allowed to touch her
and to father three litters successively)
after sterilization, tendency to incontinence,
incontinence due to fear or joy in female dogs and whelps
