Old fracture

Post by Rochelle Marsden »

I have just been contacted by a patient to ask me what she should give her active 73yr old father who apparently fractured his femur in November but wasn't told it was a fracture until recently as he thought he had badly bruised it. X rays show that this just discovered fracture may be healing very slowly and are going to check it in a couple of months to see if there has been any progress in the healing.
I suggested Calc Phos Tissues salts on a 3 week on 1 week off basis (as we were taught at college!) and wondered if it is too late for Symphytum and if not how to give it. Will my usual 6c 3x a day for 2 or 3 weeks do anything now? Maybe a Symphytum 200 would be better or even as in Boericke Thyroidinum for the delayed union of fractures. Any ideas please?

****Hi Rochelle

from Banerji

CALC PHOS 3X
Fracture of bone may be of any type. Fractured part painfully swollen.
Promotes reunion of bones faster than any other remedy.
Dose : Twice a day, or in acute cases, three or four times a day. Often

found to be very effective when alternated with Symphytum 200, one being in
the morning and the other in the evening. Needs to be continued for at least
three weeks and thereafter, may be required once a day for another two weeks
or more until the union of the bones is fully completed. These two remedies
are almost specific in the Parimal Banerji Groupings (PBG) in cases of
fractures of bones. The author has repeatedly verified their efficacy in
thousands of cases of fracture of bones.

Yes I wondered about Symphytum 200 as it is an old fracture. The other thing that bothers me is that if it hasn't joined by now the "raw" edges may have sealed themselves.

Thanks Bernie - I also would have expected your fracture to heal well especially because you started taking the Symphytum quickly.
