Eye problem in a diabetic

Post by Rochelle Marsden »

I have a long term patient (age 30) who has been a diabetic since age 12 . 6 years ago she had a micro aneurysm in her left eye which burst and has disappeared. She has now been told that she has slight oedema on her retina and although it doesn't need treatment it will be checked every 3 months. Has anyone come across and treated anything like this before. Is there a rubric that would cover it?

hi Ricky,
A good constitutional similimum should help this in the long term, as
it would also control the diabeties.

The pathology you're looking at here is oedema in nervous tissue, so
the constitutional remedy has to cover that type of pathology.
Otherwise you may need an intercurrent that does. what are the other
associated symptoms for a picture?

HEre are a couple of rubrics:
EYE; SWELLING; retina: apis, bell., canth., kali-i., phos.

EYE; SWELLING; retina; edematous: apis, bell., canth., kali-i., phos.

Given that she has also had an anerysm that ruptured into the eye, I
would expect the consitutional to be a haemorrhagic type of remedy as
well.
Hope this helps.
