Dear Ardavan,
Do you mean that acute miasms such as Mumps or HAV (Hepatitis A Virus) can
cause chronic diseases?
On the other hand do you believe that this is true in Remedies ,too? Namely,
for example, Aconite, can cure chronic diseases?

Nader

Dear Nader,
It is not the quality of the agent (affecting on VF)
which defines the terms 'acute' and 'chronic'. What
defines them is the VF reaction to the agent and
initial induced state. I do not agree with the common
definition of the words 'acute miasm' and 'chronic
miasm' having a substantial link to the quality of the
agent.
An agent may result in either 'acute' or 'chronic'
states depending on the susceptibility and
adaptibility of the individual. And yes... some agents
affecting human being with 'normal' susceptibility
USUALLY lead to either acute or chronic states!

Re: Homeopathy!!
Dear Nader,
You can not have this conclusion from what I wrote.
What you can say is that Mumps virus or Hepatitis A
Virus are 'miasms' that as far as we know result in
acute conditions in our organism. But you cannot prove
that Mumps virus or Hepatitis A Virus always cause
acute conditions because of the 'acute-inducing'
nature of the 'agent'. If the power of adaptibility of
the organism changes, acute or chronic conditions may
be induced by one specific agent.
Why not??? I have had cases with increased nervous
excitability following a frightful event (years after
the initial mental trauma) with recurrent panic-like
flare-ups cured only with Aconitum. What do you name
this condition? chronic or acute??
I do not believe in a clear-cut 'qualitative'
definition of 'acute' and 'chronic'.

Ardavan

I'd be interested whether you include Peter Chappel's CEEDS concept in
here and if so , how?

Re: Homeopathy!!
Dear Simon,
IMO, CEEDs which are 'Chronic Effects of Epidemic
Diseases' are also imperfect compensatory reactions of
the organism to an unresolved original state; here the
epidemic diseases.
'CEED' simply means 'Chronic Effects of Epidemic
Disease'. There is nothing to disagree with the
'term'.

Ardavan

Dear Ardavan,
How can you prove that chronic condition after Mumps is due to it or to
activation of underlying miasm?

Nader

Re: Homeopathy!!
Dear Nader,
Both may happen.
You can clearly find the difference by a proper
casetaking. If elements of the presenting picture are
parts of the Mumps miasm (like the original acute
state) or have a common theme with it, you should
prescribe on the basis of Mumps miasm. If after the
Mumps, only the previous symptoms are aggravated or
symptoms not related to Mumps and related to the
underlying miasm have appeared, you should not
prescribe on the basis of Mumps. This second situation
shows that the patient has resolved the disturbance
specifically caused by Mumps but Mumps has acted as a
general stressor for the underlying latent miasm. Here
you need to prescribe in the basis of the original
unresolved state of what you have here called
'underlying miasm'.

Ardavan
