Re baby with reflux

Post by J Lucas »

Dioscorea is very similar to Colocynthis but with the pain in the abdomen
they have to bend backwards to get relief instead of bending double, as in
Coloc. Bismuth also has this >>> bending back with abdominal pains.

Babies do wriggle and squirm a lot when in pain and I think it would be more
high ranking when they don't move with pain.

The >>> in the evening, even after eating, then is more important. As I said
in my other post to you Aluminia has this as well as a great deal of
digestive problems - related to Lyc as well.

Does the baby have excessive wind, if so think about Ornith with its special
affinity to the pylorus (although usually > evening at night.
Don't confine your self to Lyc.

Looking up rubrics for this baby with the reflux :-

1) I find 1 remedy , Lycopodium for "cries all day , sleeps all night " in
Allen's keynotes and other MM however in Murphy's Lotus the opposite is
found

2) Looking up opisthotonos (arching in the back) Dioscora is not in any rep.
I take it this is not the same as bending backwards but possibly to do with
convulsions. I could only find the rubric "bending backwards amel " in
Phatak and take it that also refers to bending anything backward like the
head!!

Just to report the child has been absolutely no worse without the allopathic medication. He has not been too bad today and Mum has not had to give him any Diosc. He is still getting relief from being lifted up and down in anyone's arms. Now can anyone find me a rubric or Rx for that one. (Opp to Borax), Mum will take him off the Gaviscon in his feed tomorrow and see what happens. She will also contact a therapist I know who is a specialist in paediatric cranial sacral work. There is no excessive wind. I am not planning on giving anything else at the moment until After he sees the paediatrician on Wednesday. The parents will mention the possibility of Intussusception as Dr Roz suggested.
