Sadness and Opium

Post by Jean Doherty »

Sadness and easy weeping were present here. There was in history many
severe life threatening illnesses. The complaints were some problem
emptying bowels and tummy pain which was better curling up and rubbing
[ her mother is very Phosphoric] but really brought because of her
sadness and weeping. I had used Opium 30c some years back for
constipation and they had run out of them a long time ago. When using
them the time between needing to dose was increasing.

After exploring other things and finding she hated noise, and a
reference to the previous pills being known as the Happy pills and a
dose of Magn Phos 30c making no difference at all I decided she perhaps
needed Opium again . Certainly her demeanour changed in the next 5 minutes.
Sadness alone would not have brought this remedy to mind, It is in
black print in a huge rubric in Complete Rep' Just thought interesting,
Jean

Thank you for sharing this, Jean. Interesting indeed.
Moreover, if you repertorize (with complete rep.) only sadness and weeping easily, you get opium in the second group of remedies (sadness in black print and weeping in italics) along with calc, kali-br, nat-m and sep; while in the first group (both symptoms in black print) are caust and puls. The additional information you mention, makes differentiation easy.
What was the reason for mag-p, except for amel. by doubling up and by rubbing?
Best regards
Maly

The giving of Magn Phos completely wrong. think was focusing on
Phosphorus qualities of Mother ,many of which are present in child,
also the doubling up and, rubbing. At that point I had forgotten about
the Opium and when the Magn Phos did nothing in about 15 mins knew I was
wrong. This child is mostly under allopathic care. Mother only comes
to me when stuck,, best wishes Jean
